i think this season has been decently successful so far. improvement from greene. carpenter has continued to hit well. torkelson has been slowly improving. lorenzen and rodriguez have pitched well enough to be valuable trade chips. a couple guys in the bullpen could bring back something. players like keith, meadows, and a few others continue to be successful in the minors. while that doesnt mean they'll ever be good major leaguers, it beats the alternative! the downsides are the continued injuries to the pitchers. but jobe and skubal are back and skubal is perfoming well in the majors. they just dont have a lot of talent top to bottom. but the fact that lorenzen and rodriguez have performed as well as they have means they have a very good chance to add more.

win three of four against the royals: "we should totally be buyers, we are so ready to compete in this weak division". lose a couple to the angels: "we are in a dystopian hellscape of despair and will never win another game." you guys are the best.

the defense was terrible. that's a big reason why they went for it so much. they had to score a ton of points to win. as the defense improved, i think they slowed down on the 4th down conversion attempts (but still did a lot of them).

the nhl would figure out a way to make it work for the leafs.

i know this season is tough as a tigers' fan (although i would argue it was quite expected and what really matters is greene doing well and improvement from tork), but as a card carrying member of the tigers diaspora sitting in chicago, it has been AWESOME to watch the white sox go down in absolute flames. yes, i am a hater. proud of it. i was terrified that the sox had finally done the right thing and rebuilt the right way quickly, but almost everything they've done has turned to dust. eloy? injured and lazy. moncada? "injured" and lazy. lynn? fat. vaughn? average. tim anderson? worried about instagram more than his fading abilities. and the best part was them hiring tony larussa right during their peak window. chef's kiss! it is has been a glorious fall. swift and lovely.
