the niners and eagles are above the lions in the nfc. the lions are in the next group of teams: cowboys, giants, seahawks, panthers maybe. i'd put them below the seahawks and cowboys but above the giants and panthers at this point. its too early to tell who has an easy schedule. and - as usual with the nfl - a lot of this comes down to health. if the lions dont sign bridgewater and then lose goff for any amount of time, they're probably sunk. but they still have some cap space left and there are june 1st cuts to come. maybe they use that to shore up their weaknesses at defensive tackle, backup qb, and wide receiver?

that team has so many issues. its fun to watch them implode. it takes serious work to be worse than the tigers.

go to a leafs board if you want to post that ****. gtfo.

white sox tied for the worst start in their franchise history. amazing from this team.

qb: B rb: B wr: B- TE: C OL: A DT: C- Edge: B+ LB: C+ DB: A- youre drinking a lot if kool aid my friend.

nfl guard if he makes it.
-
he was a team captain. lol. because of course he was.
-
who?
-
they spent a lot of time with curtis mcclendon. he's still available.
-
its a good trade for both teams. eagles get a potential game changer at rb who is in a contract year and needs to show something, the lions get a 4th....WAY in the future. eagles didnt give up much. one can argue the lions didnt either.

*cough*

martin gives me a lot of Gabe Wright vibes. trading up to get the lasr defensive tackle on your board, neglecting the pick until late even if its an obvious need.
-
you couldnt pick someone with a leather helmet? don strock is 72! lol.
-
lots of c's and d's for us to be massive day two winners. everyone loves the branch pick, the hooker and laporta picks are tought well of for the most part, the martin pick is almost universally panned.

i know we all hate the lakers, but watching that **** talking bunch of poseurs from memphis lose is very gratifying. how's it going dillon? you bottling up that old man lebron? how's it hanging ja? where's your dad? on the sideline wearing a shirt with your picture on it talking **** to everyone? maybe he's in the club with your gun?

mel has the lions as a "winner" of day 2. mostly becauae of branch and hooker, but he liked laporta too.

when anthony davis is healthy and trying, he is still one of the best players in the nba.

kelee ringo, adabawore, dawans jones... a lot of people had them in round 1. ouch.

Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama - A- Grade I think the Lions could have gotten Jahmyr Gibbs at No. 18, but you never know. Thus, I don't hate this value, especially because Detroit moved down in the first place. Gibbs has drawn comparisons to Jamaal Charles and Alvin Kamara, so Gibbs will help the Lions win the Super Bowl. Yes, the Super Bowl. Unlike the Falcons, the Lions are a legitimate Super Bowl contender, so I really like this selection.
-
Detroit Lions: Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa - B Grade Iowa tight ends have worked well for the Lions before, so why not draft another one? I think Michael Mayer would have been the better pick, but LaPorta is a dynamic receiving threat who will make the offensive even more explosive.
-
Detroit Lions: Brian Branch, S, Alabama - A+ Grade Brian Branch's fall finally ends. He should have been taken off the board 20 picks ago, so I can't blame the Lions for leaping up 10 spots to select him. Branch is a very versatile defensive back who can play anywhere in the secondary, so he'll be a great fit for a secondary that needed one more piece. This is a great value selection, so I'm willing to give it an A+.

Detroit Lions: Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee - A+ Grade I absolutely love this pick. Hendon Hooker is a quarterback I had rated above Will Levis, who went way earlier than this. He's an athletic player with great passing ability, but he fell because he's a 26-year-old coming off a torn ACL. However, he doesn't need to play right away. The Lions can develop him and have him as the starter down the road.
-
Detroit Lions: Brodric Martin, DT, Western Kentucky - D Grade I don't get why the Lions surrendered resources to move up for Brodric Martin, whom I had in the middle of the third day. Detroit wanted a defensive tackle - Gervon Dexter was an option in the second round - but Martin is a reach. I love Detroit's draft, but not this pick.
