those jimbo fisher and mel tucker contracts are looking really great right about now. mel knows he can go 1-10 just as long as that 1 is michigan.

you have to take care of business at home, injuries or not. -
they have a brutal schedule and they suck. not a good combination.
-
as a michigan running back putting up huge numbers, the hype train will definitely begin soon. michigan players who perform well always get heisman attention.

Tigers Hire Scott Harris as President of Baseball Operations

i dont think that's correct. next year he gets paid 30 million regardless. the options after that AUTOMATICALLY vest if he is top 5 in mvp voting, but the tigers can buy him out next year for the 30 plus the 8. or let him play for 30. -

all you guys are hardcore baseball fans (some might say....baseball nerds). most casual fans know who cabrera is but probably dont know he sucks now and would pay attention to him - as much as they would ever pay attention to baseball. in other words, you all are outliers. i imagine the tigers want the marketing opportunities for miggy's "last dance". try to make back some of that $40 million they have to pay him next year. -
typical mel tucker luck. maryland was going to beat them by 40. sparty cant stop the pass and maryland has multiple nfl level receivers. now watch them win on a fluke blocked field goal for a touchdown.
-
i got stupid this week. tough nfl lines. 4 pick moneyline parlay: steelers, eagles, packers, chiefs. +400 so my stupidity will pay off handsomely if i win. i do not expect to win. giants - 2 1/2 texans +5 raiders - 2 1/2 3 pick parlay: jets +10, broncos +9, chiefs + 7.5: +136 college: um/iowa under 42 kansas +3 arkansas +17.5 maryland - 7.5

this season is starting to shape up just like last year on the injury front. except this year they were supposed to be better. im not sure they have the depth to compete if all their best players are hurt. best safety? out. best playmaking rb? out. best wide receiver? out. sheesh lions. -
soderblum getting time in all three games so far. giving him a long look. still no vrana... biakabatuka getting a long look too. but no bednar or cossa.
-
well riley, we'll always have that four goal game in the prospects camp...
-
i think they can probably do more to eliminate checking from behind and head hunting, but youre never going to eliminate concussions in a physical game. i feel sorry for franzen, but his situation is an outlier, imo.

i dont put anything past belicheck.
-
a note on flores: miami did add a left tackle and tyreek hill, but they also changed the offense to make it more tua friendly and there are no reports (yet) about internal strife like there was when flores was the coach. i think flores comes from the belichek tree and almost everyone from that tree has had a reputation for being a hard ass sob who does all sorts of questionable things and has no modern man management skills. patricia. mcdaniels. o'brien. weiss. everyone except romeo crennell has had a hard ass attitude and being a royal jack ass about it, trying to emulate the great bill bellicheck. i think there's a lot more to flores' failure than "stephen ross is a jerk."

i remember watching a 60 minutes type thing on the nfl and pain killers. they had urlacher on there talking about taking horse tranquilizers for pain killing. they told him all the side effects and how it will affect him down the road and he basically said "i dont care, i love playing football. shoot me up 1000 times so i can play." i think that's the attitude a lot of them have. its their livelihood and they love to play it. the money, the fame, doing a fun job every week for obscene amounts of pay. they'll do whatever they can to keep playing.
-
then what should the protocol be?
-
do you think the nhl should eliminate checking?

its possible that cabrera decides to take a buyout and hang em up for $40 million to do nothing. it seems like he likes to be part of the team and to keep playing in a reduced capacity. as someone noted earlier, i think he wants to exit tour and the attention that comes from that. we'll see how ruthless they want to be. -
i dont know if i would "trust" them either, but i dont know if he had a concussion or what grade of concussion he had. or if it was severe enough to keep him off the field. im not a doctor. none of us here are (although im sure there will be a tweet or two posted in order to shit poast about it). if he passed the protocols then he passed the protocols. i dont know if he did or not or how they were administered, but i wouldnt automatically assume he had an apparent debilitating injury. he might have, we just dont know because we dont have all the information. i assume we'll get more information now and then we can make a more accurate assessment. the emotion of the moment oftens clouds what actually happened. and then the investigation will be designed to fit the narrative the people running the investigation seek to shape. we already know the narrarive the press will run with.
