chris isnt a businessman. chris is the SON of a businessman. he's had everything in his life handed to him on a platter. he obviously knows little about running a baseball team. and the only thing he's ever done for his hockey team was have steve yzerman tell him he wanted to come home.

firing AJ and keeping avila would be a very chris illitch thing to do. actually, illitch will do nothing because that's the easiest and cheapest thing for him to do.

andrew vaughn was really bad last year. this year he's pretty good! i expect a similar trajectory from tork.
-
sure, but after 5 years of drafting we had a couple guys in the top 10 prospect lists! rebuild. over.

i spent two weeks in woostah once. guy got his arm ripped off and then died. had to pay his fam a pretty penny. not fond memories of woostah, but it had a couple nice restaurants.

that's the rumor. he's been out late very often. not that that makes him a partier, but that's the implication. he's also been terrible for two years and people are looking for reasons not to like him.

at least javy made contact this time.

lol javy. lol sox.

you wasted your entire bullpen to get there and had no one left to throw except phil coke. you backed yourself unnecessarily into a corner. there was no reason to take veras out. there was no reason to use smyly on only one batter (especially since smyly can go longer and can throw to ortiz down the road if necessary). you can have the last word since were just repeating ourselves.

veras got one out and then gave up a hit. yanks him. smyly throws to one batter. walks him on a bullshit call. yanks him. albuquerque gets a strikeout and then gives up a single. yanks him to let their fly ball pitcher throw to ortiz. you could have left veras in. you could have left smyly in (like you said yourself), especially with the specter of left handed ortiz coming up. you could have left AlAl in. or, you could have wasted four pitchers in order to get to a terrible matchup. and then had nowhere else to turn except rick porcello after that. it was an exercise in overmanagement and it cost them the game.

better to waste your entire pen and then bring in a flyball pitcher to throw to the best home run hitter on the other team. leyland overmanaged that inning and cost them a 2-0 series lead. and tori hunter probably should have played that fly ball better too. what really cost them was dombrowski's inability to put together a decent pen and cabrera's injury.

2013 was the worst. they were the better team but cabrera was hurt and leyland over managed them into a loss in game 2. that really hurt.

Lions Draft Grades and After Draft Talk/What's Next?
buddha replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Lions
he's given 0 evidence that he was a starter in the nfl, much less a #1 corner and then he suffered one of the most devastating injuries for professional athletes. he's missed an entire year of development. if they get anything out of okudah this year it will be gravy. the best case scenario right now is that he becomes a decent nfl player. there isnt a great chance he develops into a #1 corner now. but you never know, i guess. -
just you.

Lions Draft Grades and After Draft Talk/What's Next?
buddha replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Lions
corner, linebacker, quarterback for sure. also, a lot of their young players are unproven and may not work out. sneaky need: running back and right tackle. decker wasnt great last year and may not be so good at right tackle. sewell is the lt of the future for sure, do they need a mauler right tackle? also, williams is a fa after this year and swift hasnt shown any ability to stay healthy. they may need a back sooner than we think. -

they may also trade for a ready made qb rarher than draft one and hope he works out. -
seems obvious that he's waiting to talk to the lightning guys.
