  1. because trammell plays shortstop and miggy plays dh. maybe i should have said position player and not "hitter"?
  2. the tigers have been around for a long time and have had a lot of great hitters. many more great hitters than pitchers.
  3. in their career just as tigers? it would be close. cobb, kaline, greenberg, gehringer, trammell, whitaker, heilman, crawford, cash. then miggy? was miggy better as a tiger than cash? maybe. was he better than bobby veach? or freehan? i'd say yes. i think people forget how good bobby veach was.
  4. off the top of my head... kell...fryman....inge? does tony phillips count as a third baseman? cabrera almost had more war in the three years he was playing some third base in detroit than inge had in his whole career.
  5. i'd say he's close to a top ten tigers hitter. maybe the dh on the tigers all time team? cant put him over greenberg at first base. hard to put him at third (where he would be far and away the best tiger of all time) since he so rarely played there and when he did he rarely played well.
  6. he's like durant, only 4 inches taller and with a better accent.
  7. the one time draymond does something positive...
  8. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
  9. is it me, or is ras turning into a pretty darn good player?
  10. "youre still here? it's over. go home." -ferris bueller
  11. jones looks like the epitome of "high floor low ceiling" qbs. the buzz is that he "is what he is" and wont get any better than he was at points last year. still too early to tell. being on a team without much individual offensive skill position talent like the pats doesnt help him much.
  12. let the mad tank scramble begin! victor is 7'5 with a guard's handle and a smooth 3 point shot. he's the next big thing. like chet, only good.
  13. pistons will go on a late season run and pick third.
  14. just a preseason game. means nothing. that said, ivey looks exciting! finally, someone on this team who can beat a guy off the dribble to the basket!
  15. hollinger has them at 29 wins so you know they'll break 30.
  16. barely above ray schalk. i wonder about the comparison to pujols' value to the angels compared to cabrera's post extension value to detroit.
  17. you cant take an "i told you so" victory lap because you were 100% wrong. and its funny that you come on now after a bad game to talk about it.
  18. yeah, but in the big picture right now i dont think that matters. if your pj fleck there is little difference between minny and wiscy. they are both mid tier big ten programs who pay similarly with similar recruiting footprints. the next step is the next level of competition or a more prestigious job. either the sec, a blue blood program, or the pros. wiscy is none of those things.
  19. sometimes i really dont know what pff is looking at. i like rodrigo, but how many times did he and all the lions linebackers get burned by tight ends? how many 3rd and 5s got turned into 40 yard touchdowns? some of that is on inadequate linebacker play. still a great find for a 6th round pick obviously.
  20. he gets almost all his pressures from stunts. i dont think ive seen him beat a tackle cleanly yet.
  21. they lost tonight to pittsburgh, but they played really well. outshot them. got robbed a few times by pitt's goalie. they continue to look really good in the preseason. much better than last year. bert played tonight, so that's good. if copp can ever come back they might be a pretty interesting team this season.
  22. where are they at right now? similar. wiscy has the same resources and recruiting as minny for the most part, wiscy has been better for 10-20 years, but that doesnt make wiscy a blue blood program. its not a national program.
  23. all of those bears second round contributors suck except for jaylon johnson and james daniels and james daniels doesnt play for them anymore. javon brisker might turn out ok though...
  24. if they draft jok they still have a huge hole at defensive tackle.
  25. whomever hired and elevated our OC deserves the majority of the credit. hopefully that was holmes. 45 points with that personnel yesterday is a testament to the offensive play calling, jared goff, and the lions unwillingness to quit when they were down.
