LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
buddha replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
soccer is much more exciting than baseball. the best thing about baseball is that its boring and you dont actually have to pay attention. put it on in the background and go do yard work...- 1,851 replies

they were up 2-0 but being outplayed. and then sure enough, now its 2-2.

by almost every advanced statistical measure, bert is better than mantha. he scores, he defends, he goes into the corners, he gets back on defense, he is physical and will fight. i wouldnt trade bert for mantha straight up. if they offered me vrana and a #1 for bert i dont think i would take it. if i was a playoff contender looking for a top 6 forward for the playoffs, bert would be at the top of the list.

i think they take a qb at 32 if one is there.
-
bert is built for the playoffs. mantha got a first and a top line player and he hadnt done squat in the playoffs. bert has better numbers than toffoli, is younger than toffoli, and has a game that should translate well to the playoffs. the only downside - and its a huge - is that canada wont let him in the country. that would depress his market for sure. i hope they keep bert unless a godfather offer comes along. all i'm saying is that if toffoli sets the market, bert SHOULD garner a godfather offer.

if that's what toffoli got from the flames, the wings should get at least that much - if not more - for bertuzzi. stupid vaccine rule.

its a fair call. the complaint from the bengals would be why they didnt call it all game and the suddenly got flag happy on the rams last drive. the non-call on higgins when he blatantly facemasked ramsey was the more egregious one. -
the third round pick from the rams was last year. they would want the extra year on the qb pick that comes from drafting a player in round one. there is no chance they take the qb just two picks later and lose that extra year.
-
it doesnt make much sense to take a qb with the second pick of round 2 rather than the last pick of round one.

isaac paredes earned more money in 42 days than most american families make in 2 years. so i dont think your "people with a conscious are rooting for the players" schtick is working as hard as you think it is either.- 1,851 replies

most edmonton stuff i've seen has been on to holland from day one a ruing the day they hired him. holland may have a rep with the msm who needs him for leaks and tips, but everyone else seems to have figured him out a long time ago.

i know that when i go to a baseball game and think about how hard it is for issac paredes to survive on $630,000 a year, it just breaks my heart. hopefully mlb helps him with his rent and gives him an extra stipend for food to supplement his need for wic money. we should set up a go fund me page for him to help him clothe his children during such troubling times. its the least an ethical fan can do.- 1,851 replies

thoughts on zadina on the top line? i didnt think he was all that great even though he scored against philly.
-
you're not certain what i mean? come on! it was a joke! you knew exactly what i meant. lol. i'm not sure i would give up talent for chychrun. they have a lot of defensemen in the pipeline, and what they really need is a center.

carlos monnarez has taken up the drew sharpe mantle of being the guy who must be a contrarian and bag on all the home teams no matter what. and he said for years that stafford was a loser and the lions needed to get rid of him. monnarez is terrible. -
how about dennis cholowski and filip hronek?
-
if only we could play the flyers every day.
-
they would really have to be blown away. then again, how much will it cost to keep him/larkin and pay seider and raymond? bert would be reallt valuable to a playoff team BUT the vax status sort of moots that this year.

a month and a hakf to the trade deadline. do you deal bert?
