  1. lets just makr it 64 teams and we can have a whole second season! pmaying games until may. who cares about the players, theyre getting paid now and we need tv content!
  2. whomever trades for hughes will have worked out the extension beforehand, imo.
  3. notre dame will treat this like theyre making some moral statement about college football. if you wanted to be in, you should have beaten miami.
  4. that position is already taken by isaiah stewart.
  5. and as a michigan fan, were not just laughing at ohio state, were also laughing at notre dame. were equal opportunity haters.
  6. horrible prediction: oregon over jmu oklahoma over alabama ol miss over tulane texas a&m over miami oregon over texas tech oklahoma over indiana georgia over ol miss ohio state over texas a&m oregon over oklahoma georgia over ohio state oregon over georgia three straight for the big ten.
  7. back issues are always in the picture when it comes to porter.
  8. yeah, which means there likely wont be a huge selloff at the deadline. and if stars/good players do get moved, its going to cost a TON to do it. quinn hughes is going to cost multiple #1s plus young players. i dont know if yzerman makes that kind of deal or if he gets outbid. anderson or kadri will probably cost multiple picks too. max did a question on this recently. he compared it to when karlsson got traded for a top young player (norris), #1 pick, a couple ready nhlers, and a few picks down the road. if you packaged a #1 pick, a #2 pick, asp, kasper or danielson, and probably another other lower level prospect like lombardi or mazur you could entice them. then your top 4 is seider-hughes, edvinsson-aljo/chiarot. you have an elite playmaking norris trophy defenseman who is only 26 and just into his prime to go along with your elite 23 year old stud defensive defenseman who is starting to pick up offense. that is a stanley cup first pair defense. it kind of guts your forward depth, but you have a lot of that coming up. you have yo give something to get something like hughes. if your core is larkin, seider, raymond, hughes, edvinsson, debrincat, i think you can contend for the division for the remainder of larkin's prime. you still have either kasper or danielson to be 2C. your 3rd and 4th lines might suffer a bit, but you'll have a top line that could hang with most of the league.
  9. i like mgoblog but theyre a little ridiculously homerish. especially seth. its like michigan's players are all rhodes scholars sometimes and no one else can match their impeccable strategy and brains. my dudes, osu is the best program in the country for the last 20 years, just deal with it. brian had to go on a little hiatus after he got too political (again) about trump but he's pretty good when he's actually analyzing and not trying to act like he doesnt care or is too cool for school. at least ace anbender isnt there anymore. alex drain is really good. his substack is a great read. and i think he lurks here...
  10. it could be worse, you could be a michigan state fan and have nothing to cheer for.
  11. other teams have better assets, like atlanta, san antonio, or okc (just off the top of my head). other teams have been accumulating first round picks, the pistons have not. the pistons' tradeable young assets arent really that young anymore in terms of a contract. ivey and duren are both due big deals. do you want to trade ausar? i know we all joke about holland and sasser, but would another team really want either of those players as a centerpiece - or asset - in a deal? sasser isnt very good, is too small, and never plays. holland has regressed in year two and looks like a hustle guy with limited offensive upside. ymmv on ivey and duren. someone may love the potential and think they can extend them on lesser deals (especially ivey) that they will outplay once they get healthy/achieve their peak performance. but i doubt duren takes less cash. the real potential in ivey/duren is suckering the guy who drafted them into taking them for a better player/pistons fit (murphy) whom he didnt draft. knowing weaver and dumars' track record, you may not even have to throw in too many (or any) picks. when they have a scouting report crush on a player, they trade assets to get him regardless of whether they could get any back (see wiseman deal, bagley deal, stewart deal (which worked out), recent queen deal). its possible to swindle them for one of their crushes, which could be ivey/duren.
  12. much needed regulation win.
  13. lol ohio state.
  14. if theyre going to trade him where he wants to go, he aint coming here.
  15. i'm not trading for giannis because he's likely seriously injured. and will be a free agent soon.
  16. is there a point to ron holland?
  17. they made zion available and no one called. is there not a james wiseman deal out there? how about we offer them six second round picks and ron holland for murphy? paul reed for zion? reed is tall!
  18. as you wrote before, they dont have enough assets to beat other teams' offers. as i countered, never underestimate the combined stupidity of joe dumars and troy weaver.
  19. these records are like steroid era home run stats. totally inflated.
  20. someone tell craig button
  21. since then they lost to brooklyn and indiana again. both by double digits. the bulls have a legit claim to being the worst team in the league right now. billy donovan really needs to be fired. even if the real reason is terrible roster construction, he is the head coach and the team is no longer playing for him. there are only a few players who are bothering to try. vucevic has quit. patrick williams has NEVER tried hard. coby white tries hard to score...and only for him to score. ayo tries hard, but he's a role player. giddey tries harder to nail high school sophomores than he does to play defense. its a complete mess. they could trade for AD. the IDEA of AD is exactly what they need: veteran rim protector. but we all know AD in street clothes wont help them. bulls talk today waa about trading for trey murphy today. i dont think the bulls have enough tall, useless big men to tempt troy weaver to trade his best player. bulls are so desperate they might even give up assets for zion.
  22. lol. michigan's whooped penn state for the last decade for the most part.
  23. That's what they pay for. nothing else in the big ten comes close.
  24. i work for a company that insures michigan. one of many.
  25. it seems paul's greatest talent these days is complaining.
