I believe they’ll stay with 50 basis points this week. I would be surprised if they went 75 bps without telegraphing that big a move. But, I would not bet against it right now. Barring a big change somewhere, I would consider 75 bps a lock for July. Mortgage rates are spiking. The real estate picture should be an interesting one to watch going forward.

Today is shaping up to be an entertaining one. Yields are going up and futures are going down. Treasury inversion is suggesting a recession. Good times.

I think you’ve got something here SoCal. Work up a couple of good chords to put with this and you’ve got a hit on your hands. I’d either go country or retro, something like a 60’s remake sound.

I appreciate your contributions to this discussion. I hope you will continue to comment.

Thank you for commenting on this. I only stream audio and don’t follow on TV. However, it’s not unusual for me to casually check the boxscore for specifics during the game, including what the current count might be on a hitter. Sometimes the audio is as many as three pitches behind the live action. Also, it is not unusual for the audio to literally repeat itself several times during a game. Weird. I knew something was screwed up but didn’t know anyone else had experienced this issue. Oddly enough, I haven’t noticed as this issue as much from others teams audio feed. Maybe I’m not paying as much attention?

This video/interview immediately came to mind when I read that Mize is headed for TJ surgery. I thought Martinez made some excellent points at the time he was having this conversation about Casey’s delivery mechanics.

Same in the triangle here in NC. I’ve seen several houses that were pending come back on the market. Clearly the rate rise and high prices are beginning to push more buyers out of the market. I’m sure fence sitters are trying to jump in before it’s out of reach. OTH, we still see homes selling for well over asking. Never seen anything like it.
-
Flip side, corporate bonds are becoming more attractive.
-
Fed is prepared to raise 50 basis points through September. The pricing of homes will be interesting to watch. In the past couple of months roughly 25% of homes nationally have been purchased with cash.

I was watching the 10 yr bench mark reaction. Mortgage rates getting goosed.

So you come to the “Religion” thread and then comment that you don’t need these beliefs pushed on you. So I guess the obvious question is, why do you read this thread? And btw, nobody’s pushing anything here.

Where does the bible contradict itself on this subject? The only way there can be a contradiction is if homosexuality is explicitly condoned in a scripture.
-
I posted the above scripture as clear evidence that the bible does address homosexuality. There were comments in the baseball thread that challenged whether homosexuality was specifically or directly addressed in the bible. Clearly it is in other verses as well. I probably should have made that clear in the initial post.

Leviticus 20:13-16 King James Version (KJV) 13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Seems pretty straightforward to me. What am I missing?

I was very fortunate. I was 28 years old when I got my first really good job, both from a salary perspective as well as doing something I enjoyed. I knew NOTHING about investing, NOTHING. I was fortunate that I worked with a couple of guys that did know something about how important investing for the long term was. That was huge for me. I realize a lot of kids are never fortunate enough to get that message from friends or family. My parents never had any extra money to invest so that wasn’t a conversation when I was younger. I worked at the same facility for over 34 years. I totally realize this is unheard of these days. But, I think that was an advantage regarding the investing side of things. I don’t see how younger people accumulate much on these ‘gig’ jobs nowadays. Yes, I am a Boomer, so bear with me.

Your comment, and affiliation with Brandeis University, begs me to ask, have you ever read any of Thom Sowell’s work? Your above comments could almost have been clipped from his biography, ‘A Personal Odyssey.’

Absolutely! I was hanging around a car dealership the other day waiting for my wife’s car to be serviced. I struck up a conversation with a kid there that was a salesperson. After some small talk I blindsided him. I hit him with, “So what are you doing to prepare for retirement?” The kid is 28 years old and makes decent money (he pretty much told me what his salary is) and is single. He’s investing $0 into the 401K offered there. He doesn’t have a Roth IRA either. This is the stuff that really gets away with me. It was a very interesting conversation. It’s like they don’t know where to start. They don’t understand investing. At that age it is as simple as it ever will be in his\her life.

We looked seriously at driving up to Pittsburgh for this mini series months ago. We located and priced lodging, identified several restaurants to visit. My wife chose a couple of area interests as well to check out. This was an ideal trip as you catch an evening game and get back out to the park for a 12:30 start. Tickets were reasonable and seat locations were great! A couple of weeks back I pulled the plug on it. This team really doesn’t inspire a round trip from NC to Pittsburgh. Frankly, it just isn’t worth the time and money. I miss the days when I would be all over a road trip to see the Tigers play.

Apparently they’re moving “full bore” month out to July now.

To say that Elon Musk is an interesting character would be an understatement.

There is a difference between love and acceptance of an individual and, on the other hand, condoning or endorsing the actions of the person. To wear the uniform was most likely seen as condoning, or being supportive of, a behavior that the Ray’s player didn’t agree with. Much about nothing. That both sides respected the other, very commendable.

Looking at this weekends schedule I see this Sundays game scheduled for 11:35 in the morning?
