  1. There are a total of 14 games on the calendar, including two doubleheaders before another home stand. The AS Break and then flying out to Oakland for a single day, and that being a doubleheader is weird.
  2. To this point, I want to reiterate, my comments above are not based on a personal dislike of the player. I sincerely hope that there are no serious issues at play here, health or otherwise. I assume when the Tigers say they can’t reach him that his agent is the go between. I would think the agent would know his circumstances beyond what the org is privy to.
  3. With this season pretty much a washout at this point, I would be very happy if the Tigers could part ways with this guy and terminate the contract. I’d much rather have the money than the player. I know these contracts are full of stipulations and ‘what ifs’ but if the Tigers could possible be free of this contract after this year it would be great. I have zero idea what’s going on with the guy and my preference as stated above is totally about the money and the future of the team. The Tigers should have an ERod Bobblehead day. When the fans come through the gates they get…nothing.
  4. I listened to one of the DH games and that’s what the Cleveland radio guy was saying when they were down in that game.
  5. I’m trying to not let this team sucker me into raising my expectations. But I sure do hope they keep trying. This sweep is entirely out of nowhere.
  6. There has to be an option to void this contract if the player leaves the team and does not respond when inquired upon. I would be happy to see this contract terminated.
  7. This just in, there is going to be a national shortage on popcorn.
  8. We monitor 30 year fixed mortgage rates through Wells Fargo. Staying with one source provides a consistent and single source to go on. Since the middle of June their 30 year fixed mortgage has gone from 6% to 4.875% this morning. Fed minutes this afternoon will definitely be interesting. The 10 year benchmark was under 2.8% earlier today.
  9. It has all devolved into hyper bullshit.
  10. I saw Sam Howard pitch for the Low A Asheville Tourists (Colorado Rockies) several years ago. He pitched a really good game in Asheville that day. I shook the young man’s hand after the game and commended him on his effort. Hope he lands a spot somewhere.
  11. No home runs!?! Manfred would be disappointed. They’ll need to fix that.
  12. Please place your trays in the upright position and be sure your seat belts are fastened.
  13. Those caps are crap.
  14. I’m listening to the Cleveland audio because it is current with the game play. The Tigers audio is so freakin’ far behind play it is ridiculous!
  15. I almost believe Hinch was just buying Alexander time to warm up.
  16. The shut down pen has shut down
  17. He’ll be good, no doubt about it. He got drafted by a shitty organization that sucks at developing players. As a front line guy you would think Hinch would suggest giving him a break from this level and get him some less stressful reps in Toledo.
  18. The Cardinals hit four consecutive home runs in the first inning yesterday. The Dodgers hit three hone runs in the first inning last night. The balls are juiced and every at bat is about hitting a home run. That’s some boring shit after a while.
  19. If the Giants can send Joey Bart down, the Tigers can send Tork down. Bart struggled with the bat. His defense was fine. Same story with Tork. I can’t see anything being accomplished by keeping him up. Let him go down and work on his issues there. This year is long since shot. Get him ready for next year. He’d be back before the year is out anyway. Maybe Al is afraid Chris would hear about Tork being sent down and all of a sudden start asking questions about his team. 🤫
  20. Your rants always do my heart good. Thank you.
  21. Agree. This always befuddles me.
  22. Willie Horton with a new book releasing July 12th. Preordered and can’t wait to receive it. His new autobiography, “Willie Horton: 23: Detroit’s own Willie the Wonder, the Tigers’ first Black great,” co-authored with Kevin Allen, is scheduled for a July 12 release. That is one week before Horton heads to Los Angeles for the MLB All-Star Game after accepting Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker’s invitation to be the American League’s honorary coach.
  23. Piece of cake!
