  1. I am inclined to agree with this.
  2. “Yellow hammer city baby!”
  3. Leyland is on it. Glad he’s in the booth.
  4. This is the gist of it. Illitch and the baseball establishment pretty much sent him to baseball Siberia.
  5. Not really. It is exactly what happened.
  6. At least they didn’t wait until he was deceased like they did Sparky.
  7. Of all the horseshit and monotonous hype on the MLB website front page, nothing about Whitakers’ number being retired this evening.
  8. Been over. This is as good as it gets.
  9. Are we anywhere close to where somebody gets fired?
  10. Thank you for the kind words, Ron Gardenhire
  11. My only issue with Dickerson is that he never stops talking.
  12. Several comments from other media make note of the fact that Scully, for the most part, called games without a sidekick in the booth. One comment noted there were no “analysts” in the booth back in the day. I have seen other comments noting that Scully was comfortable with not filling the air constantly with conversation and/or talk during a game. Good points.
  13. Breaks my heart to see that we lost Vin Scully yesterday. He was one of the Crown Jewels of baseball for so long. Can’t say enough good things about the man. RIP Vin Scully.
  14. Wow, the Cardinals sent Harrison Bader to the Yankees. He seemed like the Cardinal prototype. They needed pitching more than I realized I guess.
  15. I wish Grossman and Fulmer the best. Fulmer had a pretty good run here considering his injuries. Any player that can get out from under this dumpster fire is better off.
  16. We did the stadium tour in 1999, the last year. We were able to view the field from there. It was unbelievably close to home plate. I miss Tiger Stadium. It represented everything Tigers.
  17. Al is relaxing after the blockbuster move with a gin and tonic.
  18. Fireside chat anyone?
  19. Barrons and Morningstar are predicting rate cuts in 2023. The 10 yr benchmark is 2.7% currently.
  20. By one measure, the economy is in recession. That measure being consecutive quarters of GDP decline.
  21. This will be the rehab start that his shoulder and elbow explode simultaneously and the ball park has to be immediately cleared as smoldering debris is everywhere.
  22. SF played this one right.
