  1. I was originally just hoping for some intelligent conversation. Then I figured out that you were either incapable or disinterested.
  2. Gehringer is definitely the most mature among us Motown Forumers (MFers?).
  3. Says the guy who said last spring that Baez was the same as Neifi Perez and Reyes was ready to break out.
  4. The plexiglass principle.
  5. Lugo is not exciting, but is OK. The rest are uninteresting.
  6. I am not a high risk person and do not regret getting the vaccine. I am getting both the flu and second Covid booster tomorrow Some people heard the word "vaccine" and they assumed that they would be immune to Covid if they got it. That is understandable. However, no responsible person in the science or medical community touted it as such. It was always a vaccine that would make it less likely that people would get ill enough to be hospitalized if they got Covid. That is good for me, but it's also good for the world at large because it keeps the hospitals from getting filled up. I also am not in favor of Covid vaccine mandates. I am in favor of better education and less misinformation about the vaccine. I am not sure how that is achieved.
  7. That is some low expectations!
  8. Believe it or not, I actually share your skepticism that Ilitch will ever spend and that Harris is a genius who is going to turn everything around. However, Harris does seem like a smart guy who has hired some good people and I think he deserves a more of a chance than just two weeks. Reyes and the Castros were place holders with near zero value on a good team. There is no need to find a replacement before dropping them.
  9. Reyes did live up to his potential as a decent back-up outfielder on a losing team. Holding onto him thinking he could do more would have been a mistake.
  10. Every single White House lies frequently and that sucks. The difference between every other President's White House and the Trump White House is that there always seems to have been some unwritten agreement between what you can lie about and how far you can go with it. Trump's White House had no limits. They just made stuff up pushed conspiracy theories.
  11. If you were the GM, they would still have Reyes and you'd be thinking he was a good starting outfielder.
  12. It says: "Forbidden. You do not have permission to view this resource." It must be really nasty.
  13. I don't have an opinion on whether he is innocent ot not, because there is not enough information. However, I don't think such a video, if it exists, means a lot. We don't know when the video was taken. It could have been taken during an earlier meeting where she enjoyed herself. Or it could have been taken early in the final meeting before he started doing things she hadn't agreed to.
  14. Another thing is, free agent salaries have been out of control this year. Maybe that helps the Tigers make trades with teams that get left out. No sense making moves early for the sake of making moves.
  15. They didn't reshsape their offensive identity. They got one guy who has on base skills which is something they have lacked for years. It's a start. I am hoping they bring in more players like that and that one or two of them will come through at the major league level. I am tired of hackers like Reyes and the Castros who have no potential to ever get on base at a good rate because they can't draw walks.
  16. Yes, that is exactly what his role should be.
  17. What makes Justyn-Henry Malloy a Worthy Asset? Ask your mom.
  18. It's usually a grift, but it works because so many people are willing to buy into it. Same with fake Christian.
  19. There is no reason to take the right wing patriotism seriously until they separate themselves from Trump.
  20. I told you this guy was smart. https://www.motowntigers.com/2022/12/09/learn-to-be-still-tigers-rule-5-pick-englert-attacking-new-challenge-like-a-zen-warrior/
  21. I have always maintained that there is nothing Smoltz could have done for the Tigers that would have matched the memories he provided in the 1987 title run. Over the next couple of decades they would have lost even if they had him. I'm also not at all certain he would have developed with the Tigers like he did with the Braves.
  22. I am assuming that Soto has more value since he has three years left before free agency and is a "proven closer". That might require trade partners to have more faith in "proven closer" than I do though.
  23. When I first heard about it, I assumed he was selling them because that is who he has always been.
  24. I was surely biased, but I didn't like Rizzs and Rathbun. I could not tell them apart, didn't like their voices and the good bye baseball call sounded forced to me. I don't think it was just a "they're not Ernie Harwell" thing though, because I liked Beckman as a broadcaster.
