This should be close to a league average offense (maybe a little less) instead of the worst offense in 80 years. I don't know whether that has anything to with him, but if Ausmus or Gardenhire were the manager, they'd be getting blamed for it.

I don't think they should keep him either. I am not sure about Hinch though. He is a smart baseball man, but he lost the Astros in the cheating scandal. Has he now lost the Tigers?

It is objectively one of the worst offenses of any team in the past 80 years. Based on runs scored per game, it is the worst since 1942.

He didn't express an opinion on the subject matter other than to say he didn't think the sources were credible.

I don't either, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

She is one of the few people in Congress with a pulse.

I was thinking of the same comp.

Boebert is Trash. AOC is too idealistic, but she's not dumb.

I definitely don't want to see the video of her and Ted Cruz.

I had a rare chance to watch the game on TV because they were playing the Red Sox.

I didn't think it did either. The home run is online, but not the play at the plate.

Wow, they just showed the play where Gibson ran into the umpire and catcher! I have been looking for that play for decades. He also hit the ball over the right field roof in the same game. It was a game I'll never forget even though they lost.

Hustle force out for Baez!!!

I really hope there is no video...

I also don't think there an advantage to putting Reyes in CF over Castro. As you've said, CF is probably easier to play than RF. What CF requires over RF is range and I don't think there is a difference between Reyes and Castro there. The problem with Castro is making plays.

The Tigers were lucky just to make the playoffs that year. Nobody took them seriously as a team that could beat the Athletics. Anybody can win a short series though and the Tigers almost did. It's funny. I remember that year for the player's strike more than anything else. I was nine years old and I couldn't figure out why anyone would go on strike from baseball! It was a bit of loss of innocence.

As far as worst playoff moments, that Ortiz home run was the worst.

yes, the end of 1987 was disappointing, but I think failing in the playoffs is a different kind of disappointment than having a disappointing season. 87 was a punch in the gut, but the 85 season was a full season let down for a team I thought was going to be a dynasty. I actually have mostly fond memories of 87 because it was the best pennant race of my lifetime, something that can no longer happen in today's game. 1987 and 2006 are two of my top five Tigers seasons. I guess I always figured the playoffs are just a crapshoot!

But also 1,326 monor league PA versus 431 for Torkelson. I am really not comparing the two though. I am just saying that most great prospects get off to slow starts...and some of them never get going.

The jury is out on every rookie ever. On the positive side, Mike Trout batted .220/.281/.390 his first year.

How about Jarred Kellenic and Jo Adell?
