  1. You young whipper snappers sure do make a big deal out of watching a baseball game. I remember when we just pressed a button on the TV and there it was.
  2. And those two factors are related.
  3. I think presidents have very little effect on the economy. This is a capitalist nation. The economy is influenced by businesses and consumers a lot more than presidents. We are still involved in a historic pandemic which has vastly changed the way we do business short term and long term. We have not totaly recovered from the lockdowns and general restrictions and have not adjusted to new ways of doing business. So, it's not surprising that somethings are screwed up. On the bright side, businesses are still making money and people are still working. There are actually not enough people to fill all the available jobs.
  4. Nothing good that happens in my life ever has anything to do with any president. They have very little effect on my life. They can affect the lives of people less fortunate than me.
  5. One reason I am better off is that I work at home most of the time now. That is a big change and a good one.
  6. Oh crap, you made me type all that for nothing!😆
  7. I am personally better off now. Anyway, it's silly to say that the country is worse off now, since the last year of Trump's presidency was the worst year we've had as a country in my lifetime. And any problems we have now would have been made worse by Trump. It's been addition by subtraction.
  8. I don't think he is at all what he claims to be or what his followers think he is. He is not a brilliant businessman and is certainly not self made. He has failed at almost every business that wasn't started and funded by his father. He is not a brilliant negotiator. He just bullies people and buries people with lawsuits. He is not a patriot and couldn't care less about the country other than what it can do for him. He is not a tough guy. He never had to fight for anything in his life. Leaders of other countries don't fear or respect him. They think he's a joke. He doesn't care about working class people or veterans or any of the people he pretends to care about. I mean he cares even less than most politicians do. He does not care at all. He is not a Christian. In fact, he seems to have no morals nor values at all. Everything in life is a transaction. If it's good for Donald Trump then it's right. He has no Republican ideals or really any ideals. He is just a populist demagogue who could just as easily have decided to be a Democrat if the opportunity was there. He knows very little about any of the policy issues or the constitution or how our government is supposed to work and he doesn't even try to know. All he is is a bullshit artist and self promoter.
  9. Another thing is we would have known the winner on election night if they had been allowed to count the mail-in ballots ahead of time, but the Republicans didn't want that. They wanted to make it look like Trump had won and then the election got stolen.
  10. Sounds like a good argument for scrapping the electotal college.
  11. That is probably true. I am just biased because I think he's an obvious fraud and am frustrated that so many can't see it. Thus, I tend to defend anyone who calls him out for what he is.
  12. The reality is that he usually has an OPS of around .700 in 250 at bats doing most of the damage against LHP. That's what he'll probably do this year too.
  13. But then they wouldn't have gotten Meadows.
  14. I don't know if they'll contend all season (they might) but they finally have a team headed in the right direction. They've got interesting players at almost every position. This is a team I want to watch.
  15. I don't know what prompted your post, but his handling of the Astros situation was not good. He seems like a bright guy who really understands the modern game though. I don't think he is the miracle worker some fans say he is, but I'm happy to have him managing the team. It will all come down to player performance as it always does.
  16. Unfortunately, it's not conclusive. I think he would win the election if they had it today.
  17. this is getting ridiculous the tigers need to get there heads in the games before the sixth inning Hinch is too nice he needs to start yelling at these guys this is not acceptable.
  18. A lot more than two. Be patient.
  19. One can be apolitical and think Trump is horrible for the country. It's not his politics which makes him horrible.
  20. I think Goodrum batted third because the usual third place hitter Bregman was getting the day off and they didn't want to disrupt the rest of the line-up. That doesn't seem like a great reason to me, but managers do this frequently so they must think that is best for the team.
  21. They can still win the series. That's what it's all about.
  22. It's interesting that he would do that, but his criticism is odd. I don't think the top accounts have ever provided much content, so it's not a sign of Twitter "dying". Perhaps, it could be something more if they did provide more content, but it's not a new thing. I don't follow any of those people, so it wouldn't affect me. Twitter is what the user decides it will be.
  23. Giolito will be back too, but once a pitcher gets injured, you don't know what's going to happen when he gets back. Pitching injuries have a way of lingering.
  24. Giolito is now injured and will miss at least a couple of starts. All the injuries to the White Sox staff are making the divisional title a realistic goal
