  1. I think the goal haas always been to win the North this year.... Super Bowl though? Maybe not.
  2. I think Thursday will be telling. Have offenses figured out the Lions defense? In week three, the Green Bay offense couldn’t do anything against Detroit in the first half and the game was never in doubt as a result. If Green Bay puts us into another shoot out I’ll be concerned. I also think his scheme would be a lot more effective with one more edge rusher who can win a one-on-one and with one more good player in the secondary. We should have had the latter between CJGJ and Moseley. The former though, that falls on player evaluation for trusting Charles Harris to make some leap.
  3. Would be nice. I expect the Packers to come out swinging. They got embarrassed at their place the last time we saw them.
  4. I don’t think anyone goes out of their way to ruin others’ time. On the former forums, there were a couple of posters who - particularly in the political section - were known to **** on the dinner table. That didn’t have to do with their opinions though (in fact they were of very differing viewpoints from the majority of the board for years without issue), it had to do with some personal attacks they were making on others in the forum. They aren’t around any longer. I don’t think it’s the place of a message board to police opinions, or the general emotional roller coaster that is a game day thread. It’s kind of what it’s there for. As long as people remain cordial to each other (which I think they mostly do) I’m not all about drawing a line between rational, reasonable, and too far. Do I roll my eyes a little when I see a “bench Goff” post? Yes. But I just take it in stride and post my equally meaningless “I would kick it here”, because at the end of the day - nothing anybody posts here really matters anyway. But we do it anyway for… Catharsis? Belonging? Who knows. 😆
  5. Michigan was 4.5 point favorites in 2018 before giving up 62. 😖
  6. I’m actually less confident this year than I was last year. Last year, I didn’t see why they wouldn’t win. Road game be damned, Michigan was the better team, the matchup favored them, and they had already rid themselves of the proverbial monkey on the back that was two decades of losing to Ohio State. I still think they can win this year, but I would take OSU and the points if I was a bettor. Karsen Barnhart is an absolute liability on the offensive line. He’s been really bad. Jon Jansen (at 100 pounds less than his playing weight) could do a better job if he took the elevator down to field level on Saturday. They won’t be able to hide him like they have for 9-10 games this season and they won’t be able to say “eh we’ll just run the clock out” like they did against Penn State. If you go one-dimensional, you will lose. You need to put a TE with him, or he needs to step WAY up, or that rotating door will be impactful on the game. Meanwhile, Ohio State is not one-dimensional either anymore. Henderson can run, and if they can get him going, it is nearly impossible to stop both Harrison and Henderson. Michigan definitely has the QB edge (if even 70% of JJ’s potential shows up), and a key will be getting to McCord early and often. Rattle him, make it clear that this ain’t just any B1G game. He got shaken up last week and did not perform well against Minnesota, despite the final score. And then the intangible in the room. I’m not sure missing Harbaugh matters that much in terms of Xs and Os, Sherrone Moore is a good game manager and they’ll have Harbaugh all the way up to the walk to the stadium. I do think it matters in terms of it being The Game, and having your leader on the sideline when the going gets tough, which I think it will. If they get a chance to stick the dagger into Coach Charmin and his band of toilet paper cubs, they absolutely need to take it. Michigan takes up a LOT of his mental energy, and despite his posturing after Notre Dame, until he walks the walk with a tough team in this game, he’s sawft as they come. Make them believe that the tides have shifted. Make them believe that not only won’t they beat Michigan, they can’t beat Michigan. I’ll save a prediction until we are closer, but I think both teams are better than they were last year, and I expect a very close game.
  7. I can’t imagine FedEx appreciates the bad PR their name gets from stuff like this.
  8. I’m out of reactions, but I for one appreciate you and your knee jerk reactions…. Especially after a win. 😉
  9. You’re describing everything I remember about the Caldwell era.
  10. I just love that Bears fans came in fully expecting to lose, lost, but managed to lose in such a fashion as to completely devastate the fanbase anyway. It’s got a Lionesque artistic quality to it.
  11. I just did the math in the week 12 thread, but I think we are heading straight towards a Christmas Eve clinching party in Minneapolis.
  12. At the risk of putting the cart before the horse.... Lions have a 2 1/2 game lead in the North with seven left for the Lions and six left for the Vikings, two against each other. If the Lions can win their next three (v. Packers, @ Saints, @ Bears) and are sitting at 11-2, while the Vikings go 1-1 (v. Bears, Bye, @ Raiders) and sit at 7-6, OR the Lions go 2-1 and the Vikings go 0-2, the Lions would clinch with a win at home against the Broncos, without having played Minnesota even once. Ideal for many reasons, not the least of which would be that the home crowd deserves it. If the Lions go 3-0 and the Vikings lose to the Bears, we would actually be watching the Vikings/Raiders 4:05 game in week 14 with the chance of clinching with a Raiders victory. Most likely might be clinching the following week on Christmas Eve in Minnesota. Any later and you start to sweat, with Lions/Cowboys and Packers/Vikings in week 17, followed by the final showdown in week 18.
  13. BRONCOS COUNTRY, LET'S RIDE.
  14. Hock gonna Hock.
  15. ESPN says Broncos have a 71.8% chance to win.... I would put it around 40%.
  16. Too much time, right? Denver doesn't have a Hutch to strip sack for a safety.
  17. Denver playing Madden with this play calling. Just play 'square' over and over with a toss to the HB.
  18. That was a late flag for a very obvious DPI.
  19. Can the Broncos score a TD tonight?
  20. 3rd and 20... Lions would have committed a defensive penalty on this play for 56 minutes today. -edit- or done exactly that.
  21. Maybe, just maybe, coaches aren't worth draft picks.
  22. Constantly feels like they're on the verge of a massive collapse where they have a 4-13 season, and then they win five games by a combined 8 points and are in the playoff race.
  23. Probably DPI but that needs to be caught.
  24. In this case, I am alllllll for it.
