Most 0-2 teams are bad so the playoff stats make sense. I don’t think starting 0-2 would mean the Lions are bad though. I think it’s a real possibility that each of their first three opponents make the playoffs. If you can get out of that at 2-1, you’ve done a good job, and if you get out at 1-2 I think you’ve survived. The bye week will be a better benchmark than week three. If they’re 4-4 they’re in good position to ascend like they did last year. If they’re 5-3 (or better), they’re in really good shape. If they have a losing record into the bye, I’ll start to worry.

For me it’s all about the trenches. How does the healthy, full strength, Lions offensive line look against a Chiefs defensive line that is young and with question marks inside? How do Hutch, Harris, and Houston look against two new tackles for the Chiefs? Can Alim maintain the improvement seen at the end of last year, and who starts next to him? Second I want to see the rookies in their debuts. How does Gibbs look in space? Campbell’s job gets a lot easier if Kelce is out or limited, but how difficult is the transition to the NFL going to be for him? The KC receivers don’t scare me, but Mahomes can drop a ball into the tiniest of holes. How will Branch match that?

I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve. Except instead of going to bed tonight I’m going to get on a plane to the North Pole and get to see first hand whether I get a ton of presents or coal. And one of Santa’s top coal producing elves is holding out for a better contract and another injured their knee yesterday.

It's a phenomenal read. I stopped after a few paragraphs to share here and just finished. Impossible not to root for the guy after reading, it's basically a medical miracle he's still playing football. It's incredibly well written too, you feel like he's your friend or family member going through it and it exudes pathos in just how hard the last two years have been for him.

Credit to Justin Rogers for Sharing this on Twitter/X... Levi Onwuzurike opened up about his back injury, his life, and his struggles on and off the field... Really good read, would definitely recommend. I seriously tip my cap to him for even making this team, he's got that grit no doubt about it. Beyond Levi A little tidbit that made me face palm...

I haven't heard anything either, other than that he's healthy (which is more encouraging than any fluff piece out there could have provided)

I don't see #1 as petty discipline necessarily so much as it is means to the end of him falling down the depth chart that he is interpreting as punishment. Voluntarily workouts aren't meant to be hazing, they're meant to get your body into shape earlier. If three guys are all around the same talent level, and A and B went to voluntary workouts while C didn't, it would stand to reason that A and B would be further along in being prepared for the season come week one. I could see him being told he was going to be a healthy scratch simply because they saw a better chance to win with others at the position. If he was passed on the depth chart by guys like Levi and/or Benito Jones, who were at voluntary workouts, and Buggs asks why they are seen as better than him, he could be honestly told "they are working hard, they put in the extra minutes at voluntary workouts, and right here / right now, we think put us in a better position to win against Kansas City." ... To which Buggs would say, that's BS, I only wasn't there because my kid was being born.
