I really think they thought Mahomes could carry the offense by himself. So they decided to invest pretty much all of their cap (sans Mahomes) to the defense. It won them a Super Bowl last year, but I don’t think it’s sustainable.

They’ve gotten very lucky that the kicking ineptitude of this team hasn’t cost them a game this year. I hope it doesn’t come in the playoffs.

The defense did a really good job today. For all the concerns about Glenn, they have done a superb job the last two weeks. Now if we can just limit an opponent's first play from scrimmage to less than 30 yards, that would be great.

He did. It stood until 2002 when Marvin Harrison shattered it with 143. It's been broken several times since. If ASB hit 124 it would still be good for 10th all time though, assuming neither CeeDee Lamb or Tyreek Hill surpass him too.

With 18 receptions over the next two weeks, ASB would set the franchise record for receptions in a season (with an extra game to get it).

I didn’t think the (multiple!) DPI calls on 4th and Goal were legit. Dak’s throw was awful and to no one, why bail him out? Dolphins are driving now.

I think there is something to be said for the QB-WR relationship. Goff trusts Reynolds, and that matters. Don’t go crazy and bow down to your QB like the Jets are doing but Goff’s preferences should matter some. I’m sure Reynolds knows it too, it’s not like he’s going to get some massive offer in free agency.
