  1. I just woke up from a 14-day coma, what'd I miss?
  2. I agree with everything you posted, but when I first read this my immediate thought was "why would it matter whether it's his right or left foot??"
  3. Just going to post abbreviated threads for all preseason games here. Must win.
  4. vs. Setting: 07/31/2025 8:00pm EST on NBC Site: Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH Weather: 75° High / 56° Low, 25% chance of rain, 10mph wind Opening Spread: Lions -1 (if you bet on this game you have a problem) All-Time Series Record: Chargers lead, 7-6 Last Meeting: 11/12/2023, Lions won 41-38
  5. I saw this from some Raiders beat guys that had apparently been reporting this for a few weeks now. I do think “a fundamental difference of opinion related to treatment course” is a very different story than “failure to rehab” — one is a story of bodily autonomy and the other paints a story of laziness. If it is indeed the former, and Wilkins is a guy who doesn’t think he’s injured and wants to play right now, I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing him in on a one-year small money deal. Let him prove the world wrong. I don’t think that’s against the Brady Holmes philosophy either. IIRC, Wilkins is a really good guy in the locker room, at least from his days with the Dolphins.
  6. You almost never hear about stuff like voiding a contract for failure to rehab. Maybe it’s what happened, but it feels super difficult to prove. I’ll be interested to see the result of the grievance.
  7. I agree. You need the experience at center if the center is going to call out coverages (as is almost always the case). Let Ratledge start next to the veteran and learn how the position is played, then take over in 2026.
  8. You’re right — I had memories of football there too but it was arena.
  9. I agree, I see it both ways. The problem is the UFL wants to have full stadiums, but then is using 64,000 seat arenas that they will never come close to filling. St. Louis has really good attendance, averaging around 30,000. Everyone else hovers around 10,000 though. Michigan was around 8,000 in Ford Field. It feels like they would be better off leaning into that attendance expectation and booking Van Andel Arena (capacity 11,000) or even the new Amway Stadium that just recently broke ground (anticipated capacity 8,500). If you're routinely selling out, your crowd is going to be better and your product will improve. It will be a hot ticket in town and people will tune in on TV to see what the fuss is all about. The UFL doesn't seem interested though, the smallest stadium they use right now is DC's Audi Field (capacity 20,000)... Notably though they're not relocating the DC team. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just a fan.
  10. It seems like their ideal market is the same as minor league baseball: cities that are largeish, but don't have a professional sports team: Austin, Louisville, and Albuquerque come to mind. Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, and Lansing all could have been more successful for a spring football league, especially if they marketed to students. Using Ford Field was a losing venture from the start though.
  11. Panthers are being relocated (again). Sad, but hard to say it was unexpected. The attendance and interest just wasn’t there.
  12. Justin Rogers doesn't miss so I'm sure it's real. Not sure if we will get them for the HOF Game though.
  13. The offensive line is the question mark for me. I don't think we will be the top three unit we were the last two years. Can we still be top ten?
  14. Banner has been updated!
  15. If you have two QBs go down, it’s just not meant to be, and anyone you put out there is meant to hand the ball off. I seriously doubt they would roster three QBs heading into the season. Allen provides next to no trade value, even if he performs well. We found him on the trash pile heap of washed up NFL QBs, of which there will always be a steady supply. Could he garner a conditional 7th? Maybe. But who cares at that point, it’s effectively a preferred release. OTOH, if they’re comfortable rolling with Allen as QB2, Hooker may garner some more serious trade interest. He would have been a 1st round pick were it not for the injury, and he’s now got two years NFL tutelage under his belt. If you can get a 3rd or 4th round pick for that, you have to seriously consider doing it, before he walks in 2027 for nothing. Hooker is never going to be the QB1 here. Why save him for a day that will hopefully never come, if (and only if) you have another capable option you trust to lead the ship if Goff goes down?
  16. The extra game will allow the backups to get plenty of tape. I think Hooker may get moved if he looks serviceable this preseason.
  17. Always nice when my unbridled optimism turns out to be right.
  18. I would have no problem giving him that vet minimum deal next year, and I would expect that we do. He was very productive when he was on the field. Doesn’t hurt anything to roll the dice as a depth piece. Just not for even $4MM this time around.
  19. This was actually a quadruple post, I'm not in midseason form yet.
  20. I read it was after a hit; I wouldn't think a hit would tear a pec, more likely a tackle where it gets stretched, but who knows.
  21. Most likely he just got the wind knocked out of him. Not sure what a chest injury is otherwise. They’ve always hit hard out of the gates at training camp.
  22. I don't even understand how it happened. Most guys, especially the linemen, are just resting, getting their body right, dieting, and maybe trying to go +/- 10 pounds in these pre-training camp months. Hard to imagine how a guy tears his ACL other than a freak accident.
