  1. Onto the 5th round. Wouldn't be surprised to see Holmes move up in the next 10-15 picks. Probably not for Mel Kiper's #5 ranked player in the draft.
  2. Did y'all know the NFL has international fans? I would have had no idea if it wasn't for the 4th Round of the NFL Draft.
  3. Manu is more of a tackle prospect, and the extent to which they viewed him as a guard it was always RG, next to Sewell. I think it's possible they abandon trying to make him a guard with this pick now that they will have three starting-capable guards on the roster. Of course, all three seem to have more experience at RG than LG. Mahogany played 11 games at LG and 23 games at RG at Boston College; Glasgow was not good at LG last year after he was moved over from RG; and Ratledge started 37 games at RG in college. If I had to venture a guess before day three, the starting line will be Decker/Mahogany/Ragnow/Ratledge/Sewell, with Glasgow and Awosika as the backup IOLs and Manu and Skipper as backup OTs. If there is a competition, I would guess it's on Glasgow to try and replace one of the young bucks.
  4. Lions have five picks remaining at 6.182, 6.196, 7.228, 7.230, and 7.244. I don't see five roster holes remaining for 6th round talents. They may try to package three of those to move back into the 5th round. Bradyn Swinson, Jack Sawyer, Fadil Diggs, and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins have the upside to compete with Davenport et al. for the starting edge role... I like Cam Skattebo as a potential Craig Reynolds replacement... Marcus Mbow is still there if they want to double dip on the offensive line... And I'm sure there are some guys they love who I have never heard of.
  5. I don't think TeSlaa and Jamo will really play the same position in the offense FWIW. Jamo is the prototypical Z, ASB is the prototypical slot, and TeSlaa is now the prototypical X. Of course that doesn't mean they'll each be used that way. But I see ASB as being the jack of all trade WRs, Jamo's best weaponization as being the deep bomb, and in a perfect world, TeSlaa's best usage being as a big bodied threat in the end zone who will go up and win 50/50 battles. They're just each different receivers.
  6. How is TeSlaa pronounced? The capitalization probably means it's not spelled like the stock that's crashing. Teh-slaw? Like coleslaw?
  7. I'll be surprised if the Lions don't make a move to add another edge rusher. Re-signing Z'Darius probably makes the most sense, but Matt Judon, Dennis Gardeck, Emmanuel Ogbah, and even Von Miller are guys to keep an eye on.
  8. The Patriots have 4.106, 5.143, and 5.145. He may go to them there. The Cowboys have 5.148. That is also possible. Rams at 4.126 as well. I don't think he has a floor at this point though. He may well go undrafted. Probably an outside shot the Steelers still take him, but it seems like they're destined for Aaron Rodgers, so they may ask for Rodgers' blessing before taking Shedeur. Raiders maybe, but they had three chances in the 3rd round. Vikings and Bucs make the list of possibilities, but further down. Chargers might be a dark horse because you can never predict Jim Harbaugh's next move.
  9. I think it's both. The talent removed him from 1st round consideration. The intangibles and obnoxious father are getting him removed from draft boards altogether.
  10. I went to bed last night after the pick. I'm a little surprised to see the anxiety in the thread. Holmes has a plan, and it's working much better than the Yzerplan. The vast majority of teams would kill to have a GM like Holmes. He set sky high expectations in 2021 with literally one of the best draft classes in NFL history with Sewell/Alim/ASB. Not every class with be that. He won't hit on every single pick of every single draft. It doesn't mean that because he drafted Brodric Martin in the 3rd round a few years ago, which looks to be possibly the biggest bust to date, we should start panicking when he trades up in the 3rd round for an athletic WR that wasn't really on our radar.
  11. TeSlaa is a really intriguing prospect. Athletic freak with the perfect body type to be a Mike Evans type X Receiver, but Arkansas underutilized him, and played him as a slot receiver. Why? It's not as if he did poorly in his opportunities either. He has zero career drops. I do think that between the trade and taking him at #70, they likely expect production this year. Not necessarily, but he might challenge Tim Patrick for WR3 out of camp.
  12. This dude is Frank Ragnow reincarnated.
  13. My Lions Big Board WR: Eric Ayomanor, Stanford; Mike Green, Marshall; Edge: Jack Sawyer, Ohio State; Landon Jackson, Arkansas; Nic Scourton, Texas A&M OL: Marcus Mbow, Purdue DB: Xavier Watts, Notre Dame; Trey Amos, Ole Miss
  14. The Cowboys pick is in and NFL Network cuts to commercial?! That was an old Lions move they loved to pull. We would always be the first footnote pick of the draft. "While you were away the Lions selected..."
  15. At this point, his dad is costing him. Shedeur won't be starting in 2025 at this point. Who wants a distraction at the backup QB position?
  16. Tyler Shough over Shedeur. *chef's kiss
  17. They're having Terrion Arnold announce the Lions picks today. Should have been Kerby Joseph. FTP.
  18. I hope Holmes thought about this. That's part of his job after all. It's going to suck if we vacate draft picks for something stupid like not checking with Dallas before making our selection.
  19. I didn't do nearly the kind of research I did in the last few years, but I'm not pressed by the pick (as the kids would say). The upset crowd comes from him being selected at #28 with a 2nd round grade? I mean... okay? Does that mean that if the Lions had selected him at pick #35-40, a pick they don't have, it would have been fine? It takes two to tango with trading, and there really wasn't a lot on the board worth jumping Washington, Buffalo, KC, and Philadelphia for. It's like the Jack Campbell pick - just because you think he would be there 10-15 picks later doesn't mean he would actually be there. You like him, he's there for the taking, don't overthink it. I'm guessing he didn't have a 1st round grade from Holmes either, but you can't expect Holmes to jump 10 spots every draft to get the last guy who's falling that meets that criteria. Williams was the best player on their board, and if he is in fact an Alim McNeill who is getting a nine-figure extension in a couple years, he will be well worth the 28th pick.
  20. I hope the Packers trade out of the first round. FTP.
  21. Someone wanted the Chargers pick bad enough to make them take all ten minutes. Will Johnson still on the board.
  22. Time to move up for Sheduer? Shock the world. /s
  23. FWIW, this is Charlie Campbell’s pick for the Lions. He’s been one of the top analysts the last three years and particularly is in touch with the Lions.
  24. Credit where it's due, Justin Rogers literally predicted a 4-year / $86MM deal for Kerby in March. I feel like that's cheap for the All Pro caliber player he's been, even though it makes him the highest paid player at the position.
