  1. https://nhlmke.com/ Other than a website, a twitter page, and some articles about the idea I don't see a push for it. It doesn't look like there is a serious group of investors pushing to finance and bring a franchise to Milwaukee.
  2. Biden could declassify the files too but likely won't because high profile Democrats, ie Bubba, are named in them too.
  3. Blocking access to birth control and condoms should be front and center on the campaign trail. I would literally be running ads with single dudes at the drug store trying to buy condoms and the store clerk or pharmacist tells them due to new Republican laws you can no longer buy those in this state. Trying to tell American that sex is only for procreation, not personal enjoyment, is not exactly a popular or winning issue for Republicans.
  4. I'm giving up on the Quebec argument for now, even though I still believe in my heart they deserve a team before another southern team gets added. But if the NHL wants to expand beyond the relocation to Utah then I'd love to see Milwaukee get a team. They have 2 million people in and around the Milwaukee-Racine area. Wisconsinites have proven they will support hockey with the Badgers NCAA team, the Admirals in the AHL, and fan support for both the Blackhawks and Wild. Plus, kids and families grow up playing the sport of hockey in the state. I'd give a team to Milwaukee before Atlanta or Houston.
  5. We haven't been in on other superstars in the past couple of seasons when they've been available on the trade block or free agent market: from Johnny G to Matthew Tkachuk. That was in all likelihood due to where we were at in the rebuild process, with a roster not yet ready for such a move. I think this offseason we can afford to be more aggressive in trying to acquire a marquee or very good talent. We added Debrincat last year and could add another big piece this year. If a guy like Zegras or a Brady Tkachuk were available I'd love to be in on one of those trades, so as long as we weren't giving up too much of our defensive future or Nate Danielson in the trade. I'm not giving up Edvinsson or Cossa and mortgaging out the back end and defense of this team to get another offensive player. But short of that, I'd be open to other prospects. There may be a chance that we're not going to be in on making a marquee, splash trade or free agent signing this year though. Yzerman may just look to continue to add to the depth of good players we have. Maybe he is looking to add more scoring depth, to role out 10-11-12 10+ goal scorers and 25+ point producers to build a Vegas Golden Knights style Cup contender. I've said in the past, based on where we this roster is heading, that we're looking more and more like a team without a true superstars but with lots of potential depth in having good/really good players on this roster. A team that can role out three consistent scoring lines and two consistent pairings on the blueline. Pairing a guy like Zegras with Larkin or Raymond could certainly provide a big scoring punch if he can return from injury and build off his solid 22-23 NHL season where 65 points off 23 goals and 42 assists. I'd start with Petry and Holl for Zegras to see what Anaheim says. What the heck I bet it would work on NHL 24 in franchise mode. 🙂 In all seriousness, I'd offer them 2 of the 4 of Jonatan Berggren, Carter Mazur, William Wallinder, Trey Augustine plus a 2024 1st and a 2024 2nd to see where that gets us.
  6. Trump is literally on the fight logs and in dozens of pictures with the guy.
  7. What's the point of Trump having a vetting process for Vice President? The point of vetting is to ensure something bad won't come out about them. What could come out about the VP candidate that could be worse than what the guy at the top did?
  8. I didn't follow anything other than the election results. Did the polling show Modi and BJP were set to have a big wave election and sweeping victories nationwide?
  9. Also from the Pro Publica article . . . You know they are lying when they call it the most well run, professional campaign operation in history. Just like he had the biggest economy in history, the biggest crowd size at his inauguration in history, etc.
  10. This guy gets it. He knows when you're nWo, you're nWo 4 Life. Love the shirt he's wearing.
  11. Am I tiny bit bitter that Kenny left us here in a hockey dark ages? Yes. Did I want Edmonton to lose this series because of that? Yes. But will I rant and rave about Kenny like I would have a year or two ago? Nah, life's too short to stay that mad at Kenny. Efffff you Ken Holland for what you did to us in Detroit lol, but good job in Edmonton getting to a Cup Final.
  12. Peter DeBoer's coaching on the powerplay and match ups he sent out there just weren't working. When you can't score a single pp goal the entire series and you don't make any major adjustments that's on coaching. DeBoer did a subpar job here this series.
  13. Robertson had a shot there at the end of the game too.
  14. Well congratulations Kenny. You did what I didn't think you were capable of doing and made another Stanley Cup Final with another organization. I never thought Holland would be able to make another Cup Final and so he has. It helps to have two of the top five point scorers in the league, but still, Kenny put a team together that made it to the Cup Final.
  15. I could just as well be insensitive and wrong with what I said and the way I said it too. So I should have either not said it at all or provided more context to the meaning.
  16. If what I said is anti-Semetic I certainly didn't intend it to be and won't use it again. But we lampoon the Christian right types all the time for claiming they are God's chosen people. For acting as if America was founded and ordained by God. We mercilessly mock and deride them when they say this and then go and do something that flies in the face of what a just, loving God would do. I was simply making the same point there in my post about Israelis who act as if their nation was ordained by God and act as if they were the chosen people and then make clearly Islamophobic chants. In any case I won't say it in that manner again.
  17. So then what is the exit strategy for Isreal without being a permanent occupying force? How do they prevent Hamas or a group akin to them from regaining power as the Taliban did in Afghanistan?
  18. I don't hate Jewish people or the Jewish religion and take great offense to that being said. There is sizable a difference between criticizing the Isreali government and IDF and hating Jewish people. You're also ignoring all the times on here I've condemned Hamas and the barbaric acts on October 7th. I've made many posts here condemning Hamas and acknowledging their barbaric acts of terrorism.
  19. Isn't Israel just in the same conundrum we were in with the Taliban and Afghanistan and the quagmire we got into with the Iraqi government? What is Israel's day after plan or exit strategy? We left Afghanistan and the Taliban took right back over and we had 20 years of war and occupation just to secede power back to the people with took out in the first place. Without the IDF being already more of an occupying force than it already is, what's to say Israel doesn't leave and within 6 months some version of Hamas or a Hamas-like government is back in power? It seems to me that for Hamas to permanently fall it has to happen from within, by the people of Gaza themselves, with outside support backing it up and not leading the charge. Maybe I will be wrong and Hamas will be gone for good from Gaza once the war is over, if it ever ends, and they will have been able to force regime change and successfully keep a new, non-Hamas regime in place.
  20. When Palestinian people chant horrific things it gets condemn as anti-Semitic, but when Israeli people chant horrific things it's not Islamophobic?
  21. Here are God's chosen people chanting may your village burn referring to people in Gaza. God sure chose some great people.
  22. Here's the thing about the whole "hate America" argument though and why it fails for Democrats as a weapon against Republicans, many on the left hate this country too. Ask someone on the left what the best country in the world is and I bet you'll get very few to say America. You'll get a range of answers from Canada to Cuba to Finland to one of the Scandinavian countries to Uruguay. Heck, I certainly wouldn't say the USA myself. I'd probably agree with my progressive and left peers and answer either Canada, Denmark, or Finland. The left hates America for all sorts of reasons: from early colonialists stealing of land of native peoples and giving them blankets laced with small pox to our history of slavery and Jim Crow to the fact that we don't provide universal healthcare. So MAGA may hate America, but take a look at any protest with a majority left of center people at it, there aren't many flag waving, overly patriotic types at these events. And so the rights hatred of America, disguised as hyper patriotism, often wins out based on the way the media covers the left in this country.
  23. On a good team, looking to make a deep playoff run, would Dalton be in the starting 5 of that team?
  24. Edmonton dominating the game so far tonight. Looks like they might be advancing if they keep this pace of play up. I sort of wanted to be right about my prediction that Kenny would never make another Stanley Cup as a GM. Oh well!
  25. Can someone with more basketball knowledge than me tell me why we don't want the Pistons to draft Dalton Knecht? An explosive, offensive minded, 6'6 wing who can shoot 43%+ from the 3pt line. Is he a liability on the other end on defense? Is he a Luke Kennard-esque spot shooter who can't create his own shots and scoring opportunities? What's the knock on Knecht and why we wouldn't want him at #5?
