  1. The first time I listened to his album Southeastern I got emotional through most of the songs on it. I think specifically I got misty eyed during Cover Me Up, Elephant, and Traveling Alone. Jason really brings out all of your inner most feelings and emotions with his songwriting and pulls you in to being apart of the song itself. He makes listening to his music such an enjoyable experience.
  2. Pride of Detroit: Player survey suggests NFL has done a horrible job teaching gambling policy It's an incredibly small and maybe ultimately useless sample size in the Athletic's player survey. But my guess is that if they had expanded it out and surveyed 100, 200, or more players the results would be similar. They would show that NFL players were largely unaware of the NFL's gambling policies and where a bet can and cannot be placed.
  3. But it seems it may be the case that across the league this was not communicated to players on most teams, not just the Lions.
  4. I expect the NFL, as I do any corporate business, to properly explain and train its team members on its policies and procedures.
  5. This years first round picks, Zadina, and a prospect like Albert Johansson would be my initial offer. Maybe these are just rumors on the internets, but it seems like Debrincat out of Ottawa. I don't know how much leverage they have to command the haul everyone thinks they might get hit him.
  6. SI: Everyone is Saying Jameson Williams Suspension Should be Decreased The more we learn about what your players didn't know about the NFL's gambling policy the more it's clear the Jamo suspension should be overturned or reduced.
  7. They don't have a #1 centre or a #1 winger right now capable of being their 85-90+ points a season guy and they need at least one of those. They also need another player capable of being between 75-85 points per season as well. I get that Vegas just won the Cup without having a guy north of 70 points on their team. But their defensive approach, a throwback to the NJ Devils days of the 1990s, seems like the exception. Though maybe that's how we need to proceed too and just build a defensive juggernaut with superb blueline play and goaltending. However, when you look at many of the top regular season and playoff teams from this past year, outside of Vegas, they had at least two players north of 70 points. Edmonton had 3 players (McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins), Tampa had 3 (Kucherov, Stamkos, Point), Colorado (McKinnon and Rantanen), Dallas had 4 (Robertson, Benn, Pavelski, Hintz), Florida had 2 (Tkachuck and Barkov). I like Larkin, and we've beat this discussion to death as fans, but it can't be understated that they need a #1 centre who is capable of crossing the 85-90 point mark on a consistent basis. We simply need more scoring at the position or at least to have him paired with an elite goal scorer where he can be more of a playmaker and distributor to get more assists. They also need a player at the wing capable of crossing the 75-80 point scoring mark on a consistent basis. And probably another winger who is either a pure goal scorer and is going to net you 30-35 goals per season or is capable of being between 55-60 points as well. Without more playmaking and ultimately scoring ability, this team will be stuck hovering around the .500 or .550 win mark it feels like. When you look up our scoring deficit, goals and assists, and compare it to other teams it is really glaring. We scored 237 goals, which was 9th worst in the league and we were far closer to the Blackhawks and Ducks at the bottom than we were to the Oilers and Bruins at the top. The top teams are scoring north of 280 goals. Same thing with assists, where we were tied for 11th worst in the league with San Jose. We had 403 total assists and many of the top teams had north of 470-480. When you add those numbers up, goals and assists, we're trying to make up for 100-110+ points in a season.
  8. Pride of Detroit: With new gambling policies, the NFL is admitting they screwed Jameson Williams I agree with what Jeremy Reisman wrote in the article and believe the NFL should do something about Williams suspension, but is too cowardly to ever admit wrong doing here. I think the Lions should do something as an organization, in protest, to fight the Williams suspension. It's clear from a survey of the players that almost none of them were made aware of the NFL's new gambling rules and procedures about where they can and can't bet.
  9. I want you to come out here and say that if and when Donald Trump is convicted of felony offenses related to the classified documents he unlawfully kept or the coup he attempted on January 6th to overthrow the election results and the democratically elected government of the United States that you won't support him and won't vote for him. Come out and admit that he is a convicted criminal if and when it happens. If Hunter Biden runs for President or you have provable evidence of his father engaging in illegal activity with him then I'll condemn Joe Biden for it. But come out against Trump if and when that happens.
  10. Glad to see you take felony offenses seriously today.
  11. If the league had been found to properly and effectively communicate its gambling policies with all its players I'd agree with the suspension. But when it comes out through player surveys that most of these guys didn't know the rules the league had imposed for gambling, it makes the suspension look worse.
  12. Straight up, I'd only agree to do it if the Jamo suspension was dropped. That's my asking price. Reinstate Williams and we'll do Hard Knocks. The gambling rule is bull**** anyways since it was a league and union HR policy that was clearly never properly communicated with the players.
  13. Do yourself a favor if you're just into good music and having a great ****ing time and go see Billy Strings live in concert sometime. He is killing it out here tonight at Pine Knob.
  14. Which is exactly why he'll go to the Pittsburgh Steelers and have 25 sacks next season. He'd come here and blow out his ACL and be done for the year.
  15. Does having watched an 8th seed like Florida make the Stanley Cup Final make you anymore hopeful for the Wings in the near future or do you still feel like we're a ways away from making a deep playoff run?
  16. Good for Bruce Cassidy.
  17. I really miss when we were good and dominant. Watching these guys skate with the Cup, listening to the fans sing "We Are The Champions", I really, really miss those days. We got spoiled for so long.
  18. **** me, 9-3. Florida didn't even show up. They completely folded tonight.
  19. What do we consider a ton? If we are calling about Scheifle, we might as well be asking about Connor. I'd offer up both firsts and additional picks for him. I'd throw in Wallinder or Mazur if they needed a top prospect to get it done.
  20. I would much prefer my President be someone like an Elizabeth Warren. Someone who has all the intellectual tools and self drive to read and retain information. Someone who can admit when they don't know something and is willing to learn and study up on it. Someone who is also compassionate and empathetic, recognizing that human beings are not numbers to be crunched or pawns in a game. It's too bad we can't elect someone like Liz for President. 😞
  21. Trump is a malignant narcissist, which gives him an inability to ever admit wrong doing, guilt, or truly feeling bad about something he did. From an educational, learning, and retention standpoint, he has all the right answers and thus probably feels he doesn't need to read or study up on anything because he already knows everything. He's a subject matter expert, just ask him. He's also had everyone else do everything else for him. From the time he had his sister cheat on his college entry exams to all of his business dealings. His life is like a book that's being ghost written. He is the face and understands just enough to slick talk his way into a business dealing, while someone else behind the scenes is doing all the leg work likely. He has a certain, vile kind of people smarts or sense of what a certain group of angry people want. But I genuinely think Trump is a dolt and would test out low on any kind of intelligence tests.
  22. The new Jason Isbell album Weathervanes has dropped. I haven't given it a full listen yet but am excited to do so very soon. As a huge fan of Jason's, I recognize that there will never be an album that compares to his 2012 album Southeastern. So I don't hold the expectation that he needs to record a Southeastern 2.0 type of album and don't expect this album to be that. His Southeastern album was deeply personal and was produced as he was coming out of a very dark time of his life. So I judge each album on its own merits and for their own artistic value and songwriting. And Isbell offers a lot of artistic value and always incredible song writing. I truly do believe he is the greatest songwriter of our times. The modern day John Prine, Bob Dylan, Woodie Guthrie. I can't wait to dive into Weathervanes this week. One of my favorite music blogs/websites, Saving Country Music, has a nice review up on the Weathervanes album. Saving Country Music Weathervanes Review
  23. If Winnipeg is rebuilding, and if you had the chance to get Kyle Connor or Alex Debrincat, which one would you pursue? I don't know that Kyle Connor will be available, but he is the guy I would go after if given the choice. It might cost a little bit more to get Connor, but I'd be willing to go get him so as long as it didn't cost me one of Raymond, Edvinsson, or Kasper. I'd part with both draft 1st round picks for Kyle Connor too.
  24. Are they suspending Dan Campbell for that game and allowing Wayne Fontes to come in and coach? I'd hope so, because you can't have a throwback to the old NFC Central like this without the Big Buck coaching.
  25. What Jason song are you playing? I LOVE that you're playing Isbell and Son Volt. Also, are you playing Loading Zones by Kurt Vile?
