  1. Is there any update as of today on the Katie Porter race in CA-47? I haven't seen a new batch of votes come in and Porter is still up with a very slim lead. I'd be depressed if we lost someone as smart, thoughtful, and progressive as Katie Porter.
  2. I think her cult-like following also gives off Applewhite/Jim Jones vibes.
  3. That filter or whatever she uses that looks different when she's on camera weirds me out. She has to be using a filter of some kind or does she always look like that?
  4. This is why we need to pass national gerrymandering reform and require all states setup some type of independent, non-partisan commission.
  5. Nixon clobbered McGovern, so someone back then liked him. But the Archie Bunker crowd that liked Nixon is long gone. So in today's electorate, it is hard to see where DeSantis has broad-based appeal. I think Kari Lake, who is equally MAGA, has much more national appeal and natural charisma. Here's to hoping she doesn't even win in Arizona though.
  6. I thank Biden for his service, beating Trump, and passing several big pieces of progressive legislation like the American Rescue Plan, a climate bill, and Medicare negotiating prescription drug prices. It's time though for Biden, Pelosi, Bernie, Hoyer, and the elders of the party to pass the torch on to a new generation of leaders. As a progressive I DO NOT want Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren to run again. They are too old and have already run and lost. I do however want to see a progressive presidential candidate take a shot at the White House if Biden doesn't run. I'd like it to be someone who can realistically win a general election, so not AOC. I'd say my way too early top 5 would be the following people: 1. Tammy Baldwin 2. Josh Shapiro 3. John Fetterman (Depending on how his health has recovered) 4. Gretchen Whitmer 5. Cory Booker
  7. I'm on the I don't want Biden to run again train, but I think he's probably going to at this point.
  8. Cruz is right on one thing, the GOP had no plan or agenda to run on. They just tried to gin up hatred and resentment against the democrats and make people feel like their was a malaise thanks to crime and inflation. It didn't work because they had zero to offer people outside of banning trans athletes and books. Cruz, through is ranting and name calling, is right that you have to stand for something and deliver for people. With no agenda people won't take you as seriously.
  9. Remember to go vote after the Steelers game. Even right up to the very end he made it plainly obvious that he was a carpet bagger.
  10. The Michigan Republicans should all be ashamed and embarrassed. They lost a trifecta with the Governor's seat, State House and State Senate. That is unheard of and yet they managed to do it.
  11. Trafalgar lol
  12. Go Gretchen Go! I'm shitfaced down at the Motor City Casino party. Fuck Cooter Dixon!
  13. At the Redford Township precinct I'm at as an Election Challenger there were 612 total votes in 2020 between absentee and election day votes. We're at 689 now with another 25 or so people still in line.
  14. Let's Go Blue!
  15. Looks like the student body sees differently then Jim as evidenced by the 3 and 4 hour waits to vote.
  16. Speaking of Pennsylvania . . .
  17. Is there any early reasoning as to why this is?
  18. Ben Winkler, Wisconsin Dems Party Chair, tweeted this out . . .
  19. What's the source on this?
  20. That's how they are though, they think that being the loudest means they are the majority. Silent majority was BS and not based on any actual data in 2020.
  21. I'm working as a poll challenger for Promote the Vote today in Redford Precinct #20. I'm helping protect people's right to vote, not challenging any votes. As of 3:15 we had 469 total in person votes. There were 612 total votes, absentee and in person, in 2020. Keep in mind this precinct likely changed a bit with redistricting.
  22. My concern is Wasserman seems to be projecting bad turnout nationally for Dems based on Florida and Virginia.
  23. Well fuck . . .
