Hindsight is 20/20 but I was a Joey Porter Jr. fan last year and a Christian Gonzalez fan. Had they taken Porter Jr. over Campbell I think that would have given us our CB #1 for the future. Oh well, can't ace every pick and Campbell could still be a very solid player.

The Commanders are almost certainly drafting a young QB. Why they wouldn't hire an offensive-minded head coach is beyond me. Quinn had success in Atlanta but failed to do much of anything in a weak AFC South after his wiz kid OC Kyle Shanahan left for San Francisco. This was a lousy hire and the wrong direction for the Commanders to take. I would have promoted Eric Bieniemy to see what he can do before going with a retread like Dan Quinn. It seems like they may have gotten desperate after missing out on Ben Johnson and just settled on Quinn.

I like Holmes a lot, but the way they have approached free agency hasn't been to go out and get a top player in the free agent class at any position group. Maybe they thought Sutton and/or Mosley would be worthy of the #1 corner spot, but neither are. Maybe they thought Charles Harris and John Cominsky were the bookend pass rusher to Aiden, but neither of them are. I'd like to go out and get a Josh Allen (Edge), Brian Burns, Danielle Hunter, Jaylon Johnson, Kendall Fuller type impact starter in free agency. I do worry a bit, I guess, that they'll pass on the A-tier free agents and go get more try hard guys that fit their scheme from the next tier down. So we'll end up with Denico Autry and Adoree Jackson type players instead of an impact playmaker like a Brian Burns or Kendall Fuller. That or they'll bring in an aging veteran like Stephon Gilmore while they draft someone and bring them along behind him. But they won't pay big to bring in an impact playmaker that can be their starter for the next 3-4 seasons.

Do we think Holmes is going to draft for need this year or will he go BPA, regardless of position?

Anyone supporting Israel carte blanche, without willing to condition any military aid might as well vote for Trump. If you're willing to support Bibi then why not just vote for Trump? What exactly is the difference between Bibi and Trump at this point?

19,000 orphaned children, with no adult, is a great way to create future Hamas members and terrorists. Its a great way to radicalize children. Terribly sad to see, if those numbers are correct, that 19,000 children are orphaned. The IDF response has proportionally gotten way out of line. What an utter tragedy on both side.

Where is this Ragnow retirement talk coming from? Did one of the beat writers or NFL insiders report it?
-
Of course the Netanyassholes will say these little ****ers had it coming and it's all Hamas' fault.

Red hats don't believe we are a democracy. I'm frequently told we are a republic and not a democracy by red hats and conservatives.

I would have went with Matt Anderson honestly. But to each their own.

Don't lie, you'll be reading mock drafts and looking over the free agent class instead.

PFF: Top 150 NFL Free Agents I know a good number of players on this list will be resigned to their current team. I also know that we are likely to sign B-tier free agents and not A-tier, top guys. But taking an early look at the free agent class, man would I love to make a splash and get Jags DE Josh Allen. I know it's unrealistic to think about as Jacksonville is almost assuredly bringing him back. But Jags GM Trent Baalke is a noted dolt and has made puzzling moves before. If there was a way we could make this happen and pair Allen with Hutch that would give us the absolute perfect bookend pass rusher. Being realistic though and looking at the pending free agents on this list adding a Kendall Fuller type player from a rebuilding Commanders team would be nice. The Commanders have a new GM and will have both a new coach and QB so they are almost certainly rebuilding next year. So prying away a player like Fuller doesn't seem unrealistic by any stretch. I'd love to get him here to pair with Sutton and be our #1 CB. Fuller had 65 tackles, 2 picks, and some good advanced stats too. Fuller will be 29 next year so getting him on a 3 year deal and drafting a guy to develop behind him would be truly an ideal scenario.

Now that the season has ended it is time to discuss the offseason. Discuss the offseason.

I spent years trying to run Matt Stafford out of town. I bitched that he couldn't beat good defenses and struggled to get it done against teams with winning records. I bitched that he never one a playoff game. I bitched that we didn't score a single TD after the first quarter in the Dallas game in 2014 and that we didn't get in the end zone at all against Seattle. I bitched that he didn't make the receivers around him significantly better. I bitched about his mechanics and throwing off his back foot. I bitched about him being reckless with the football. I wanted this franchise to trade him and start over. Well they did and what we got out of it has been phenomenal. A ton of talent with four first round draft picks. A really good starting QB of our own in Jared Goff. Two playoffs wins and a freaking NFC Championship Game appearance that we damn near almost won. I will not spend years trying to run Jared Goff out of town. In-fact, just the opposite. I want this franchise to extend Jared Goff and get the deal done this offseason. Jared Goff has turned his career around playing for Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson. He's proven he's good enough to take a team to the NFC Championship game and win two playoff games. Something Stafford never did here and something Hendon Hooker likely won't do either. This year alone Goff was 407-605 with a 67.9% completion%. He threw for 4,575 yards with 30 TDs and only 12 INTs. He had a 97.9 passer rating and a 603 QBR. He was also only sacked 4.7% of the time he attempted to pass, one of the lowest of his career. Meaning he's stepping up in the pocket and/or getting the ball out quick. I'm not getting rid of Goff and running him out of town playing the way he currently is, with stats like these. I'm not risking all the progress we made and throwing it away for someone else. Not for Hendon Hooker, not for a more mobile QB, not for a rookie QB on a cheaper wage scale, not for anyone. I'm paying the man and keeping him here as our starting QB for the next several seasons. No, I don't want him to get $55 million a season and $219 million in guaranteed money like Joe Burrow is getting, nor do I think he will get that. I think 3-4 years at $45-$47/million with $125 million or so fully guaranteed isn't unrealistic and isn't something I'd be against. They can also front load the cap hit so they have more money available to pay their own guys in years 3 and 4 of Goff's contract and keep a good team around him. Jared Goff will be and should be our starting QB for years to come.

They had TJ Lang on this morning on Stoney & Jansen on 97.1. Lang, who is the sideline reporter for the radio broadcasts, did say he would have kicked both field goals, but especially the one to go up 17. He said having a 3 score cushion changes the way a defense plays and how tightly they press against the offense. I know what analytics say, but analytics don't account for momentum and the way an opposing team responds to a situation in a game. I would think an opposing team would almost certainly respond differently, at least in some way, being down 3 scores versus only 2.

This is how I feel. I'm very happy where he has gotten this team. He's the reason we are here. Any other coach we've had would have never gotten us this far. It was a great season and Campbell is a big reason why it was great. I love MCDC and I love this season. In my mind though, his decisions not to take at least one of the two field goals, along with the Gibbs fumble, really hurt us. I can't help but blame Campbell here.
