In Torkelson's case, the only reason one tries is realistically it doesn't block anyone else from being developed. In my mind, the moment a prospect arrives that continued efforts with Tork would hinder the new guy's development, Is the moment I would send Tork packing. He is what he is: a failed number 1 prospect. It happens all of the time in baseball.

Am I reaching here, or is it possible that Kieth is having some lingering shoulder issues that could be impacting his performance? From personal experience, shoulder injuries don't always stay quiet.

It is time for a little reality here. One needs to look around in the entire organization and ask who do you see contributing to a playoff team in 2027 or 2028. Everyone else is yesterday's news and needs to be traded, if reasonable value can be found. The only player who might be here when the Tigers are playoff competitive again is Winceel Perez. Everyone else is probably dead man walking

I still keep coming back to the intro presser for Harris. He barely managed to keep from laughing out loud when asked about the Tiger's farm system. He is doing exactly what one should have thought after hearing him speak.

It seems to me that it can't be all hit or miss with respect to acquiring players. The Rays, the Dodgers, and until recently the Cardinals seem to be able to find ,draft,develop, and retain the correct players to be successful.

At this point, I am of the opinion that Tork is toast. I take absolutely no joy in saying that whatsoever. I don't see how things improve though, maybe after the ASB, when he will get almost a week away from baseball. The situation now is we need a competent 1B, 3B, and SS minimally.

If it does, it will be a pop up, like a toaster pasty popping out of a toaster. I now take my bathrooms breaks when he is up to bat.

On a serious note, Harris unintentionally made his public feelings known about the organization's talent level. At his introductory presser, he just barely stifled a burst of laughter when asked about the talent of the players in the system. We will see callups for marginal players in September. Jung will not be among them. Flarethy will be traded to a contender. Any true change has been written off by Harris. If the wins blow in the right direction, we will win 84 games. This team is entertaining to watch, so I will watch it.

In the grander sweep of things, this team lacks talent and experience . I will consider AJ's performance when they have both.

I think this is an accurate read on Tork from an optimistic point of view, but likely correct.

With Tork, people saw how his ASU years seemed better than Barry Bonds in their eyes and had unrealistic expectations. Right now, I would guess he is gone in 2 years at the most. He is what we are seeing right now.
