  1. just about 24 hours to go before no transactions for 10-12 weeks. Come on Al, give us one more
  2. Garneau and the rest of them, except Boyd as previously announced, tendered a contract
  3. I think the tigers should have a back up plan, but right now, Tork and Greene are penciled in the line up for opening day also, Keith Law hates the Tigers
  4. Stavenhagen writes Tigers made offer to both Correa and Story
  5. I would endorse this - IF the tigers actually ever hit on a guy, but they haven't outside of Wily Peralta instead of $20M for Urena, Tehern, Matt Moore, Ross, Holland, Nova they could have had a real contributor
  6. i am not qualified to make that call, but people seems to rave about his glove work/tag skills
  7. doesn't he have - literally - the best hands in baseball?
  8. I would have canned Al long ago - drafting, trading (ugh), and free agency fails abounded but boy has he been doing a good job for the last few years total reversal of outcomes
  9. Rondon would be a high risk / high reward signing, say 1/24. But Boras looking for multiple years IMO. then lots of options for 2023: Alexander, Wentz, Faedo, Turnbull, Brieske, Madden
  10. like everyone else, would have preferred Correa, but not losing another high pick (when they finally seemed to have figured out how to draft well) is a bonus, and if Al's allowance is not all gone, adding Chafin, and maybe a lesser SP and maybe a bat, perhaps that is just as good
  11. Tigers get a lot better; last year defense and hitting from SS was awful. Correa: 11/352??? Seager: 10/325 Semien: 7/175 Baez: 6/? Story: ?
  12. 6/140? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/11/tigers-sign-javier-baez.html
  13. the tigers have developed just one SS in the last 2 decades, trading him away (Adames), so they are going to have to pay a premium to get a new SS if they get one in free agency, that premium will be paid in $$$ if they wait until Feb, during that scramble, that premium will be paid in young talent thru a trade I am as high as anyone on Kreidler, but you cannot rely on him for SS in 2022
  14. god the rangers line up still suxx bad
  15. just offer Correa 10/341 and call it a tie
  16. Lorenzen to LAA for 1/7M
  17. no doubt. that's why you hire professionals who help you make these big decisions
  18. i wonder if they would look at Dominic Smith, LH, plays 1B, LF, DH; good 2019-20; if Cano is back, he might be available
  19. Canha would have been a good fit; sees 3rd most pitches per at bat; but that price, at that age? yes, pass
  20. Baez may realistically realize that he is the 5th best SS out there (Correa-Seagar-Story-Semien-Baez) and maybe he does not want to be under the gun in Feb as there is a mad scramble to find a team. So can you get him now, for 5/125, or less? Baez carries a different type of risk.
  21. Tender deadline moved up 2 days to avoid lockout, so will get a little more clarity on the roster then; assuming one of Garneau/Greiner will not be tendered, maybe both will not; Boyd is only big decision. Turnbull, Candy, Fulmer, Cisnero - yes HCastro, Jimenez, Reyes - sure why not Hutchinson, Niko, Krol - already gone
  22. but that's what will happen.
  23. well if Correa is at SS, Semien is at 2B, Seager at 3b, and Story at DH ... that's OK with me.
