  1. that might be too complimentary at this point. i wonder what Metzler has to say about what the Rays thought they were giving up?
  2. Initial minor league assignments look done: Lakeland: Graham and Santana both stay for now, in a rotation with Gold and Sequera. WMI: Jung and Pacheco and Campos and not much else. Luis Garcia demoted here. Erie: Keith and Crouch. Interested to see what happens when Dingler comes off DL.
  3. Soto came in with a man on 1st: K, 2R HR, K, BB, BB, K
  4. Schoop, coach wants to see you.
  5. Hooker to TB at 19 https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-mock-draft-2023-hendon-hooker-to-buccaneers-lions-jump-at-opportunity-to-pick-bijan-robinson/
  6. VA has weird contrarian results where gov elected is almost always of other party in White House. Terry McAuliffe was a god awful boring choice. And they keep Trump from coming to Va. That was the key. Youngkin is a weasel who has no political future. He is just going through the MAGA list: stolen elections, woke, communist. Yawn. He does not believe it. Wearing his stupid vest, endorsing 10 wacko MAGAs who all lost in 2022. Va GOP was sick and tired of losing state wide elections for 12 years, so they were all in on a guy who was "normal". And his 17-year old son tried to vote twice for his dad.
  7. Carolina, Houston, Indy, Seattle, LV, Atl, Tenn, NE, Wash and TB (and maybe Det and Minn) could use a young QB. There are 3, maybe 4 with Levis, or 5 if you include Hooker, QBs - I expect a lot of trade ups to get one of them
  8. Tigers got a 4th option on Nevin per Woodberry, so there may not be anything soon other than Nevin coming off rehab assignment and staying at Toledo.
  9. maybe. three years of failure might be enough for him and the team. one thing is that the first 40 games are just brutal. if Hinch can survive that (and maybe he does not), maybe he makes it through the year. but neither Harris or Ilitch are going to fire themselves.
  10. like 2016 all over again
  11. it looks like 4 QBs in the top 5 is more and more possible, leaving Carter (likely) or Anderson (possible but not likely) there for Holmes. If the QBs are all gone (and Holmes did not move up to take one), doubtful anyone is motivated enough to trade up to 6 considering lack of other elite talent in the draft. Anderson seems to be a guy that gets at least a brisk walk if not a job to the podium. Carter makes too much sense to pass up. Staying put might just be the best and easiest decision.
  12. Every day, AJ rolls out 7 or 8 of Al Avila's favorite players so Scott "Calculated Risk" Harris will have an opportunity to see if they really do suck. Narrator: they suck.
  13. W Anderson, T Wilson, M Murphy, and K White (and maybe L Van Ness) all look to be uber-athletic, 3 down DEs. White might have the highest ceiling among this group; and could be available early in the second round.
  14. Fox cannot argue statements were not false; judge said they were false; Fox can only now argue false statements were not made with malice.
  15. partial SJ motion granted against Fox
  16. Malloy at 3b; let's see how that works. starting 3 (oops just 2) guys 30+ years-old seems suboptimal
  17. for the GOP? great for America? not so good
  18. hard to see Josh McDaniels giving Carter the direction he needs.
  19. 8 of Avila's guys + Vierling = winner
  20. I rarely see OL listed as a need, but to me the need is high. The back up OT is the starting RG, who missed last season with a back injury, and is in the last year of his deal, just like the starting LG and their main back up, who also back ups an oft injured C. I have seen a few mocks with Skoronski available at 18 - but I doubt he will be.
  21. it is utter BS, I know, but at a minimum asking Detroit to pick up some of the infrastructure changes is a pretty standard ask
  22. little of both I would assume
