  1. That's not true. Not true at all.
  2. What's not to understand?: It's not like Clark was rated 208th. He was in the top five of nearly everybody's board and has crazy high upside. Not to mention is a pretty good ballplayer projected to stay in center. Sure Lankford seem like the more obvious pick but Clark has the ceiling of a Betts while Lankford is probably Andrew McCutheon.
  3. That;s a long played out misnomer
  4. I'd stay out the prediction business for a bit
  5. Almost no supplemental pick nowadays is worth anything. No reason to give up any pick for either of these guys. There are a million of em available as udfa or on the cut wire.
  6. All three?! How the hell do we pull that off??!
  7. Didn't he just spend like $200 million an offseason ago?
  8. Colts Minor stats: OPS of .907 in 792 Plate Appearance Torks: OPS of .889 in 685 Plate appearances. So pretty comparable and tork's sample is smaller than 'keith's current small sampe size"
  9. A) the service time issue is long solved. B) you actually can gain a draft pick now by leaving him in the minor leagues currently and not calling him up for a full season until next year
  10. They moved it to increase ratings and not have it against games.
  11. He wasn't even a 1 WAR player last year. I disagree there was nobody possibily out there either via free agency, trade or our sytem who could possibily put up a .5 WAR -- especially when you consider the cost. Even if you thought candy came back to a 1.5 player. Is 1.5 WAR at the cost worth it than less say not signing Lorezeno or not doing XYZ.
  12. Cause there really isn't a plausable way (only way to think of is to play poorly because your playing yourself in fantasy and have a huge bet you'd loss to your friend on a given week...and even that's not guarenteed) to have an impact in fantasy same way as through gambling straight up
  13. Remember Challenge Tork? How is that working out?
  14. TV asks for it.
  15. Dave hired Brad and Mike was still alive then.
  16. and? To compare Trout had nearly double that
  17. I think they are mostly appealed because they are arbitrary. Like in baseball the suspension for beaning a guy is arbitrary, it is 3 games is it 5? Plus it allows the player to play. In this case the rule was written clearly and Williams violated the policy, he said he isn't appealing, my guess is because the union knows it won't go anywhere. Pick your battles kind of thing.
  18. Big difference though. Texas has no income tax. Not saying that was in the only reasons, but it is a benefit to just take the money there vs take the money in Detroit.
  19. Probably cause they agreed to it.
  20. I don't know why you keep hammering this Like any other workplaces there are rules. He broke em. Just like if I get plastered and take a crap on the floor of the hotel lobby in front of the entire conference, I'm getting in trouble too. It was a rule, he broke it. Simple as that. If it was any other team you guys wouldn't be bending over backward to explain it. Yeah the entire hotel is off limits, no we don't section off parts, the entire property. Really simple.
  21. It is cause you always do this. What if we do this outlandish thing. What if we try this guy at catcher what if we do X y z. Lets trade everybody, lets draft a guy with no legs. Whatever. Its always flavor of the month or the now need. Those are guys are all young let's just keep them on the same developmental plan and let them progress before throwing another wrench into their development. We might need a first baseman, we might not. In two years we might be desperate for a second baseman, we might not. One of the worst thing you can do in development os change the plan for a guy who won't be read for a few years because of a perceived need now. We don't know what the needs will be what if you move them and they get so focused on learning the position, the hitting development fall off? What if tork goes on a hot streak? What if no one wants to trade for them because they are now perceived first baseman? Etc etc your plan just creates more problems than it solves and the solution might not be needed or even work. its just tinkering to tinker like its a video game and forgetting these are real people invovled. I don't need to block anyone and I'm plenty of happy. Sorry cirticism of silly ideas hurts you so.
  22. You get a bit of luck with players coming out of their shell or magically becoming useful. I mean look at 2005 a lot of the same feelings but then kablamo 2006. I'm not saying they'll do it next year but some of the woe and this is gonna last for another decade or whatever is overblow.
  23. Neither are they Your desire to creating more problems as a fix to something that may not be a problem, knows no bounds.
  24. Might as well just give up on life....
