  1. Slippery slope. Same reason you can't start drinking at 4:50 on Friday at your desk. By having players gamble at the facility you risk creating a slippery slope. You also risk word getting out and media/public reporting on lions gamble on games during practice type headlines which would be a disaster. So its easy just to say no to everywhere that is team related.
  2. Until a WR gets hurt or we lamented the lack of a deep passing game...
  3. I mean it clear we just disagree here. My guess if he played for the Bears you wouldn't be making this case. The rules are no gambling. The rules extend to all team activities, why because it's a high profile job and any gambling risks the integrity of the game either by directly betting on the sport or by creating a slippery slope that makes it easier to do so. I have no problem with the suspension because he knew the rules and violated them. You are just looking for every way to rationalize it away.
  4. Welcome to a job that is much more in the public eye than whatever you do.
  5. They also promote beer but you can't show up to a game drunk
  6. Same as any other workplace where it's in the workplace or a company truck.
  7. That's true of any workplace through. There are certain rules such as don't drink on the job. Off site ok, work hours not so much.
  8. It's a 10 game mandate I believe
  9. It's a chance. But its risk reward. I mean he could wait but really how much mroe is he gonna get guarenteed? Better just to take your $200 million and call it a day instead of risking injury/poor preformance for an extra $20 million.
  10. Unless he hates it here. He's made a $100 million in the bank its not like he's hurting. I could see him opting out cause he hates it, take a one year prove it deal and then hope to make it up in 2024.
  11. Did he get hurt on his way in?
  12. They started em last year after the NBA model. The thing is just named to highlight some different type of uniforms. Again, part to appeal to the younger gens. We saw one this year when the Astros wore their "space city" uniforms.
  13. Yes. When is age of professional athletes not relevant?
  14. On the other hand stats show it really doesn't matter who pitches the ninth. The conversion rate with a 2 run lead is about 95 percent.
  15. First or second Batter? Who gets the walk off hit?
  16. Probably just confused at what he's supposed to do as he's never out there
  17. What you mean not every team wants to move up to take a qb third on their board? People here wouldn't have you believe that.
  18. They don't need a 26 year old project
  19. you can't have too much cap space. This gives you five more and jettisons a maybe 4th corner for a pick instead of hoping he defies all logic an gets better in year 4 and getting nothing.
  20. frees up anothe 5 million.
  21. Well cause a few a young and a full 25 man rebuild takes decades and can't be fixed overnight.
  22. I say we let you do it, can't be worse than casey
