and he could tack on 2 years and 60 million to his deal right now and have that security instead of risk FA.
Plenty of reasons to want an extension today instead of taking a risk of Free agency even though its just months away, like you suggested.
maybe he did. You don't know that he waited till it was all complete reviewed meds then went to E-Rod. Also what do you expected Harris to do beforehand? He knows E-Rod has him on the no trade. He might have given him a heads up, but when they finally reached a deal went to E-Rod to see and he said no.
Wouldn't you want to make sure you get a trade you wanted before going to a player and being like what to do you think?
Why go to him before you have a deal you like? You already know what teams are on his no-trade.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers had a trade in place for left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez, but Rodriguez invoked his 10-team no-trade clause that included the Dodgers and the deal is now dead, sources tell ESPN.

Eduardo Rodríguez and Jack Flaherty have strong markets, with a little more than 2 hours left to the deadline. Dodgers, Braves, Reds, Orioles, Marlins, DBacks all looking at rotation upgrades.
@Tiger337 Lee is a heck of a prospect to return. Great contact and walk, few Ks. He is clearly a No. 2 hitter in the future that will be like Altuve lite and will no doubt be a solid bigger leaguer.
(just thought I'd be the first 😉)

Tigers are close to trading Michael Lorenzen to the Phillies. Infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee is part of the proposed return heading to Detroit.
