  1. They didn’t sign a contract for 4 years. They are trading their labor for tuition. The scholarship can be revoked at any time. I mean in the SEC they take away scholarships for new recruits all the time. There is no loyalty in this business. Also it’s funny that a transfer is being lambasted for not playing a meaningless game. What did you expect from a guy who left his last team? And to be clear I support him transferring and opting out. These guys are getting short changed on their labor for a billion dollar business.
  2. Detroit Red Wings' game against Colorado Avalanche postponed due to COVID-19
  3. All 7 picks have contributed this year.
  4. Can we just play the rest of the games at home?
  5. Yep, the 17 was with the org, 10 as a coach. My mistake. The reference to playcalling wasn't a critique of the HC calling his own plays. Calling plays is something Pederson had done for a couple of season before. It was to point out that it is something that Staley had interest in previously and one would hope training in as well. also not saying he will be good at it. This was in response to the implication that there is no one else on the coaching staff who could possibly call plays.
  6. Staley has been coaching for 17 years and was trying to work his way up the Eagles org but they hired a HC who calls his own plays in 2016.
  7. There is another option https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/duce-staley-philadelphia-eagles-coach-running-backs-doug-pederson-nick-sirianni-jeffrey-lurie-20210124.html
  8. Lions made a great halftime adjustment to protect their draft position. It was a little nerve wracking at 14-10
  9. I gave up in the second period. It was the score, it was the effort/energy/skill.
  10. Blues turning to fourth-string goalie Lindgren against Red Wings
  11. Jared Goff named NFC offensive player of the week
  12. That’s no less shocking than us living in the universe where Campbell told Goff to throw a pick on one drive and fumble on the next. I think that 12-0 universe is awesome but this one is certainly more interesting.
  13. I suppose because this is allegedly a low talent draft so they would want an actual good player rather than 3 mediocre? I mean I know they wouldn’t, but I guess that’s a unreasonable reason. But why would the Lions want that?
  14. Exactly. I realize that now. And Cousins isn't as good of a QB because he failed to turn the ball over in the correct scenarios.
  15. With the clock running?
  16. The INT and fumble worked out, guess they were the right decision? Outcome doesn't guarantee wisdom. Again, after he called the first TO they got a 2 first downs. Why didn't he call any more? What was the strategy? Again, just because we stopped them on 4th down and then got a FG (on 3rd down) doesn't necessarily make it the right call. There has to be reasoning.
  17. Actually I think you just pointed out how bad Zimmer is as a coach, he had 3 timeouts and didn't call a single one when the clock was running on our last drive! How did he expect to get the ball back with time to score? Maybe they should fire Zimmer.
  18. We've never seen that. It certainly would be a wild thing. Almost as wild as if a team actually KNEELED at the end of a half. Luckily we don't live in that world and instead we will continue to see all those teams calling timeouts when they don't have the ball to save the clock for their opposition.
  19. I still can't get over how fumbling on 4th down in your own end and throwing an interception in plus territory were literally the right calls to make as a playcaller. Seriously. Let that sink in for second. Name one other coach smart enough to turn the ball over TWICE to ensure the victory? That's coach of the year type of thing. Soon you will see Tom Brady doing the same thing. This is a copycat league.
  20. Now I see why Campbell didn't call another TO in the first half to save enough time to score a TD so we only needed a FG to win at the end. He's really Dr Strange and he saw all the future possibilities and the only one where the Lions win was using 1 TO not 2 and then turning the ball over twice in the 4th quarter.
  21. I'm in awe of Goff's decision making. He knew that throwing that pick and then fumbling on 4th down would give the Vikings a chance to eat up exactly the right amount of clock so we score the game wining TD as time expires. Now I see what they see in him.
  22. Suck it haters. All made possible by that int and then the fumble on 4th down.
  23. We should kick the FG here.
  24. The game really is more enjoyable when you just assume all the stupid decisions are some sort of unrealized genius.
