  1. They deceive you, he walked three times.
  2. One thing I'll say about Torks struggles, is that it is not like he's completely lost to the point of being hopeless. He's still showing a good approach at the plate. A BB% of 11.8 and a K% of 26.9 is not great, obviously, but it's workable, and really not out of the line for a reasonable expectation of his rookie year. Bart had a K rate of 45.4% in 108 PA, Kelenic 37.5% in 96 PA, Adell 34.5% with a BB% of 3.4% in 87 PA. Those guys were sinking while Tork is treading water. He's at the point where he needs to face ML pitching, he's not gonna get any better doing that by hitting AAA pitching.
  3. Yeah I definitely agree there's no reason to keep trotting him out there going forward.
  4. Absolutely kills me that they can't get any variation in the ads when you stream.
  5. Grossman is a career .247/.350/.380 hitter. Last year he hit .239/.357/.415. I really wouldn't classify his performance as some big fluke, pretty normal variation.
  6. Even Vladdy Jr. was only a slightly above league average hitter through his first two seasons (183 games). A lot of Blue Jays were calling him a bust.
  7. Of course. Hopefully nothing too serious. Hope to see both him and Perez get some time in AA this season.
  8. Worth noting Pacheco has a .793 OPS in Lakeland, which is good for a 130 wRC+.
  9. How many pitchers have had it and returned to form? I was under the impression it's pretty commonly a death knell for pitchers.
  10. It sucks the Cubs also had to be cheap, otherwise we could have gotten the Quintana return for Verlander.
  11. I mean, an ISO of .027 is still appallingly awful.
  12. Might be because if it might be because he's set to start twice this week, so a shorter rest than normal before his next start.
  13. Always remember the time Dmitri Young missed out on the cycle because he hit two triples.
  14. I assume he'll be moved up Tuesday. May or may not play tomorrow before the off day.
  15. Well, what exactly do we mean as serviceable? Is it a 3rd starter, or a BOR guy? Is it a 1.5-2 WAR, or a 2.5-3 WAR guy?

  17. Yeah we didn't have him pitch the year he was drafted because Florida had an extended run the tournament. And he performed so well that it looked like he was a steal, probably would have been a top 10 pick if the draft was the CWS. Then as soon as he pitched for the Tigers his stuff was just not there. I remember Microcline making a comment on his weight after his first season in the minors on the Tigstown podcast.
  18. That's not exactly right. He showed mid 90s fastball and had a dominant run in the CWS. His first year was not good, he was overweight, didn't have the sharp slider or velocity on his fastball.
  19. Been on an absolute tear the last two weeks as well. Hitting .400/.440/.733 in 11 games in May. Gotta imagine he'll be promoted to Erie soon.
  20. Way too early to say for the 2023 draft.
  21. The first six picks will be determined by the lottery, but every non playoff team will be in the lottery. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/guide-to-the-new-cba-draft-lottery-expanded-playoffs-and-more/
  22. It just means we only need to have the third worst record to have the best odds for the #1 pick!
  23. I think the league wide numbers show it's true for a large majority of players. Did they use these balls during ST, and did teams know ahead of time that MLB was going to use the deadened ball?
  24. Shohei Ohtani has a higher career OPS than any single player in our lineup has this season.
