  1. Did the Tigers show a replay of Riley's check swing?
  2. He beat the tag even if he held on.
  3. Not everyone is using the new bats btw. For example, Aaron Judge is not.
  4. UMP giving us some favorable calls for a change.
  5. Tork just keeps putting together good ABs.
  6. The Ohtani situation is just obnoxious. Being able to add a player like him for $2 million a year because he's 1. willing to do that, and 2. able to do that because he's the one player in baseball who earns $50+ mill a year in endorsements. It's a lot like the situation where the NBA had a huge jump in salary cap just when Durant was a free agent allowing Golden State to sign a top 2 player to the team that just set the record for wins in a season.
  7. If he doesn't stumble around 3rd he's safe, not really a case of Cora being over aggressive.
  8. The Dodgers announcer said he had speed when the ball was going to the corner so I figured it would be an easy run. Was absolutely shocked to see the throw arrive and him just running into the screen
  9. Dodgers broadcast released a synched up photo showing Margo was out by inches btw.
  10. They started their season with two games in Japan a week ago.
  11. Agreed, but I don't see that that would be a whammy to the Cubs.
  12. Yeah, but the Dodgers don't get extra money for that.
  13. I believe merchandise in Japan is shared equally amongst all teams.
  14. Correct. And he was not good in the booth. They can have him hang around and come in as a third guy for a couple of innings every now and then, or be involved in post game stuff.
  15. They are neither loosing nor losing young players because of McStinky. They aren't competing for the same roster spot. It's better for Jung to get everyday ABs in AAA than have McStinkys bench role in the majors.
  16. Baez testing Keith early.
  17. Melton was flagged as someone who could make that jump prior to last season. He gave up a lot of HRs and the ERA was bad, but the peripherals were great. Surprised to see they went ahead and put him there. But he's one that I'm really looking forward to following.
  18. And you had no basis of comparison for what the MLB average actually is. You said the Tigers only have two average to above average hitters. Meadows, Vierlong, and Torres were all average to above average hitters last year, and you just magically decided that they weren't.
  19. It seems that you have no idea what average actually means.
  20. Hes not going to get anywhere near that deal.
  21. The Tigers offered Correa something like 10 years 290 million. Hinch obviously had no problem with him coming here.
  22. He recruited Correa so this doesn't check out.
  23. Meadows hit .358/.393/.679 with 4 HRs in 56 PAs in Spring Training last year.
  24. I think a big part of it is that they provide value in other facets of the game, Meadows especially, and are still younger. Less likely to let a DH try to work through hitting like a -3 WAR play against LHP. Also he was 26 this year, hard to imagine him developing into a guy who can be a plus hitter against LHP at this point.
