  1. My guess is that the Tigers took Clark because he was willing to sign for the #4 slot, I don't think any top HS players are slipping, to make up for the slot difference. I'm not a big fan of this pick, but if Clark turns out to be the energizer bunny type, he can rack up some decent WAR numbers.
  2. He is old for that league. He is also blocked by Jung
  3. As far as I know, all players who have signed long deals before any service time haa signed over the winter or spring training.
  4. They can slow play him. Hold him down a couple of weeks to gain an extra year. Wait until his arbitration eligible date has passed. Or, sign a team friendly deal for 6 years plus a couple of team options.
  5. I would hesitate to bring up Keith until next year, so the Tigers can have some leverage in signing him to a long-term deal. The Tigers haven't done that before.
  6. That's what the Mets and Padres said. I would rather just acquire talent like the Rays. Money doesn't buy anything in baseball.
  7. I prefer Langford over Crews. I think those two are clearly the best of the field.
  8. I have a friend who use to be a chearleader for the Lions. I didn't see her in this video.
  9. He's a major league hitter, with power and a great eye. They can figure out the defense later.
  10. The Tigers should hold back any player who could challenge for roy until next year, so they can reap an extra draft pick.
  11. I prefer Langford for the Tigers. I'd prefer him if they had the first pick.
  12. This is so bad, I think they meant Jameson, which was our 12 pick last year.
  13. I've heard that Honzek is a good skater, and Rass is a pretty good skater as well. Rass has improved every year, but needs to be healthy.
  14. He is 6'5", so he's hard to miss.
  15. Hearing a lot of Sam Honzek noise to the Wings, probably with their #9 pick.
  16. They never have spent big money (top money in a year) for a top international SS either.
  17. Positional value is also very important in baseball. Though all of the years at the top of the draft, the Tigers have never taken a shortstop high in the draft.
  18. Wrong. The top college players in this draft should be ready to play in two or two and a half years tops.
  19. Those two bats are special.
  20. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2023/06/18/detroit-tigers-prospect-colt-keith-third-base-obsession/70334149007/ Great article by Lynn Henning on Colt Keith, and how he's obsessing to master 3rd base defensively. The article is for subscribers only.
  21. According to BA, the Tigers have seen C Kyle Teel of Virginia a lot, and would take him if Crews and Langford go 1-2. Sounds like the Tigers are extremely high on Langford.
  22. I might have a tear in my labrum. Or, more likely it's tendonitis. I am waiting for an ultrasound at the end of July. In other news, the Tigers have the fifth worst record in baseball.
  23. I think they need to keep Keith at 3rd. Worry about other positions later.
