  1. Jobe is a pitcher...the clock on his arm is already started.
  2. They also won't need a 5th starter until 7/23. But that's with Jack Flaherty still around.
  3. Rotation through the weekend: Skubal - Friday Montero - Saturday Bullpen Day - Sunday
  4. The #Tigers are moving Kenta Maeda to the bullpen for the foreseeable future, manager A.J. Hinch said.
  5. Canha sitting for the third straight day
  6. They didn't hold Matt Manning out last night...so he's not available. It shows you how little they think of him as an option.
  7. He mentioned that their bullpen was overtaxed tonight...and they need to get Maeda right. The break comes at a good time. You can extend it out almost two weeks to see if he has anything left.
  8. Good comeback effort...put Maeda on the IL with a shoulder injury and he can come back in August.
  9. Extra inning baseball is dumb...the end.
  10. hahahhahh tie game.
  11. Urshela with the power surge lol.
  12. He's versatile!!! Bad at a lot of positions.
  13. I wouldnt give Wentz another inning because he's tempting fate. But you have 5 more games this week so he needs to take up some space.
  14. If we're playing the semantics game, the Baez contract is an albatross. The Maeda deal is an impediment...he shouldn't be starting games going forward. But he will because they don't want to dump the money.
  15. Keith is turning the off speed stuff with a vengeance. Last stop is turning velocity.
  16. Maeda and Wentz games are torture...which should make it easy to get rid of both of them.
  17. Maeda won't start on Sunday...they'll do a bullpen game or pull Manning up.
  18. Joey Wentz’s role as the mopup man is still intact.
  19. You win four straight in a middling season and this guy needs to pitch because we want to realize value out of a sunk cost. It is a bit demoralizing.
  20. Hinch and his 2022 hitting staff was likely the primary information source on Willi. If they didn't want him, Harris saw it as an easy non-tender.
  21. Willi's projected arbitration salary was $1.7 million for 2023. It's also possible that Harris was given the indication from Hinch and staff that Willi was never going to get it. Additionally, the Tigers hitting staff might not have unlocked what the Twins did. Harris saw the projected salary for tendering Willi and decided to go with someone else. This is a small move IMO and I'm not going to kill Harris for it.
  22. I won't even blame Harris for it. He looked at the '21 and '22 numbers and figured the guy wasn't ever going to find consistency. His non-tender was probably a transition cost of changing regimes.
