We need to give credit to Avila for player procurement? It that right? What does get for building an incoherent major league team? We have this fetishization of prospect lists when the 40 man roster is still bad and needs multiple years to fix.

If you are relying completely on high draft picks to save your rebuild, you're dead. Avila is gone because of it. We need to to see if Harris has any non-free agency and development methods(real baseball trades) to vastly improve the talent level on this team.

Tork's failure is on Tork, the 2020 player dev disaster, and the tigers change of regimes.

You have to plan on him not being a 5 year core player. He is not consistent or valuable enough to rely upon.

It's not easy and for the most part free agency has stunk. I think we are close to rendering a verdict on Tork's long term upside. That should allow them to move on and improve the position.
