  1. WTF are you talking about? They dominated the Raiders and they also outplayed the Bucs pretty soundly as well and they likely lose the division if they lose this game? Man TP, go out and get some fresh air my friend.
  2. Herbert is going to shred the Lions defense, they've struggled against every good QB this season and I expect that to continue. I also expect the Lions to score a lot so it'll be a shootout in all likelihood.
  3. He played the entire 4th quarter and almost 40 minutes the entire game after playing almost 40 minutes the night before. Not to mention that their offense is almost entirely dependent on him so, yes, I do believe that fatigue was a factor in the 4th.
  4. This is about as good as one can expect from a team literally full of young guys against a healthy Warriors team. I know people want to ship off the vets but you can't have a team full of young guys and expect to win many NBA games. Not to make excuses for Cade but he's playing too many minutes out of necessity and it's really starting to wear him down.
  5. A little actually. The Ravens are extremely tough to beat in that stadium when Lamar is on.
  6. The Lions had two giveaways and still took the game to OT, not to mention the poorly timed 4th down call by Campbell in his own territory and Montgomery going down when the Lions were leading in the 3rd. The Lions practically gifted that game to Seattle and still had a shot to win it on the final drive. I think they're probably the better team and would win 6 or 7 out of 10 against them.
  7. This season is already a disaster, they aren't even competitive against teams with depleted lineups. Look at their next 4 games, that's an automatic 2-9. I expected them to be bad this season but I at least expect competitive games especially at home. They're going down a very bad road if they have another season like last season. We need to see some progress this season.
  8. As if being one of the most inefficient players in the NBA his first 3 seasons wasn't enough and somehow he's become even more inefficient this season which should be no surprise since he's playing against starters now. What's Monty thinking? This shouldn't even be an experiment, it's not like he's THAT good defensively like Ausar for instance.
  9. Yeah, there's a fine line between enjoying the moment (and god knows that us long time Lions fans have earned it) and raising the bar as well. I think there's a lot of merit to what you're saying about taking the time to enjoy this but there's also merit to what Tater is saying by raising expectations and expecting more when needed. The window is just opening BUT in the salary cap NFL where there is so much roster turnover from year to year, you just don't know when you'll have a real opportunity again like the Lions currently have. 6-2 in an awful division with one of the easiest schedules in the NFL in the last 9 so I kind of feel like Holmes missed an opportunity to fill vital areas of need with, again, a good amount of draft capital to work with (4 picks in the first 3 rounds) and some cap flexibility to add a significant player. Not only are they missing a guy opposite of Hutch especially with Houston hobbled even when he returns probably but they are hooped if Hutch goes down. Also, Will Harris is their next guy in line if Sutton or Jacobs goes down which we saw against Baltimore what occurs when that happens so Holmes standing pat makes the path to a SB that much harder especially when all the competitors added a significant player. There's also the matter of their young guys about to become much more expensive especially after next season as well as Goff so there's a small window here under Goff's current contract and the core guys on their rookie contract to take advantage of, basically a 2 year window before Sewell, St. Brown and Goff are all due for monster raises. The team is good, even very good perhaps, but I don't see this as a Superbowl contender as is with weak pass rush from the Front 4 against good teams and paper thin corner depth. When you're 6-2 headed into a manageable schedule, SB should become the bar I'd think so I think Holmes misread the room in this case by sticking with the patient approach.
  10. I'm starting to wonder if Cade is a PG. He's one of the worst ball handlers I've ever seen and it seems to be getting worse and worse. It's not like the handle itself is bad, it's that he's very lazy/careless with the ball and stuff like that just doesn't seem fixable.
  11. Again, I'm talking about this season, "was" in terms of what we've seen up to this point. I thought that was obvious but I guess not. REynolds has 397 yards, the next guy has 231 yards. Reynolds has been the #2 this season. #3 if you include Laporta as a receiver. And you still haven't told me who the #2 was if he was the #3. IF you think Peoples-Jones will get more targets then maybe he'll be the #3. Seems like you clarified that you're projecting future targets so fair enough if you think Peoples-Jones will get the 2nd most targets. I'm not so sure about that but can't discount the possibilty. Anyway, and I'll just say it for the last time, my general point is that Reynolds is not going be displaced by Peoples-Jones. It'll likely be receiver by committee, whoever is hot at the time. Peoples-Jones is taking on the role that they envisioned with Marvin Jones as an X receiver. I should have probably copied and pasted the last 3 times I said it haha.
  12. I'm not haha. You said I'm wrong that Reynolds was the Lions #2, that he was the #3 and I asked you multiple times who was the #2 then and still nothing. I'm now aware that I'm not going to get an answer and an explanation as to why I was wrong so I'll leave it at that. My general point is that Reynolds isn't getting displaced by Peoples-Jones. It'll simply be a shared workload. They're probably hoping that DPS will bring what Marvin couldn't.
  13. You still haven't told me who was the #2 receiver on the Lions. We keep going in circles and still haven't told me who has been the #2 for the Lions. IF he's the #3, who has been ahead of him besides ASRB? I'm talking receivers, not the star rookie TE.
  14. I'm not talking about going forward because I can't predict that. My general point is that Reynolds isn't being replaced by anybody because he WAS the #2 and will still be a key member of the offense going forward. I'm not even saying that he's a real #2 but he was the #2 on this team this season pretty much by default but also because he's put up pretty solid numbers as well and has been their big play guy for the clutch catches along with Amon Ra of course.
  15. How am I not correct? Who has been the #2 receiver target this season if not Reynolds? I eagerly await your answer.
  16. I don't know what you're arguing. Reynolds has been the #2 target this season so far. Who do you think has been? Raymond? Jones? Jamo? I'm just talking receivers, not including LaPorta. My general point is that Reynolds isn't going to lose out to anybody. He'll still be a key part of the offense this season even with Peoples-Jones. Peoples-Jones will play the Marvin Jones role or at least the one they envisioned for Jones, the contested catch guy.
  17. Reynolds has been their #2 guy this season, he's not losing out to anybody. This is a Marvin Jones replacement sprinkled in with a little putting Jamo on notice.
  18. He likely passed on Young because he didn't fit the culture requirement. Young is from that Carter school of lazy tendencies so I doubt he was even a consideration for Holmes/Campbell. Personally, I think they need to look outside their bubble sometimes and take on talent even if they aren't the best personality fit and work with the player to get the most out of him. I know that sacks isn't the end all be all but Young would be the Lions leading sack getter, a 3rd rounder would have been a small price to pay for talent like that. Maybe they are banking on Houston coming back but there's no guarantee that he gets up to speed coming off the injury.
  19. As an Edmonton Oilers fan, this meme frustrates me because I've been living this for the last 4 years with exactly zero Conference Finals wins in McDavid and Draisaitl's prime but I digress. I'm getting a little hint of this from Holmes and Campbell as well. "We like our guys" "The Answer is in the room" "Has to be a culture fit" etc. They're doing well so far but I wonder if this mentality puts a cap on their upside.
  20. I feel a little salty about Young going to the Niners for a 3rd. I'm not the biggest Young fan but that's pretty cheap for a young talented pass rusher even if he's a rental.
  21. I'm a fan of Sweat, I brought him up in the GDT as a realistic target but that's when I thought it would cost a 3rd. Seeing that the Bears gave up what is almost a 1st for him, I realized how unrealistic it was for the Lions. It also illustrates my other fear that this is a sellers market because there are so few sellers and plenty of buyers. Little did I know, however, that the Bears would be one of the buyers. It's not just about whether the draft pick turns out to be as good as Sweat. It's also about cap management. You're giving up 5 years of cheap contract high upside for a 28 year old player that's going to command big money when the Lions have a lot of key guys due for enormous raises in the next 2-3 years starting this offseason with Jonah and that's assuming that you get Sweat locked up as he could just as easily test the market. I just think a 1st, even a late one, would have been too rich. I'm aiming higher and for a player with term if I'm parting with a 1st.
  22. The Bears traded what will be very high 2nd for him so how else do you expect the Lions to beat that offer? I guess they could have offered a 2nd+later of the two 3rds, would you have done that?
  23. You would have traded a 1st for Sweat?
  24. Was busy watching the Lions game so I missed this one. I'm not surprised by the result, the Thunder are what the Pistons hope to be in 1-2 years. Oh and Cade with 7 turnovers is a real eye sore. He has to clean that up, he's way too loose with the ball in his NBA career thus far.
  25. It was a BS call, period. He lost the ball after he was laying on the ground, that is not a fumble by NFL rules. Running right at Maxx Crosby with your backup RB on a 2nd and goal from the 4 is not a good playcall, but that's just my opinion. If Montgomery was in, I run the ball but not with Reynolds even though he had a solid game. Either way, it was a sloppy game by the Lions even with the yards domination so we agree there.
