  1. It was bizarre but I don't know what they'd have to gain by showcasing her. It's not like the NFL is ratings starved and/or that it was a boring matchup that would draw eyes away from the game. Bizarre indeed. Either way, she seemed like a cool lady if you want to listen to the McAfee interview. Somewhat hyper but I kind of like that in a woman personally.
  2. It did almost look like manufactured enthusiasm....until I saw her on the McAfee Show (she was surprisingly cute) and it looked like the enthusiasm was genuine but who knows nowadays.
  3. Opposing fanbases always invade the L.A. teams stadiums even going back to the 80s/90s. With how well Lions fans travel, I expect it to sound very much like Cowboys-Chargers did on Monday Night with it being 50/50 basically.
  4. Mobley will never be a lead guy on a team. It's the biggest reason why I didn't want the Pistons to draft him who desperately needed a lead guy. Mobley is a great guy to have when you already have a #1 but he'll never be the alpha #1 on a team.
  5. Missed 18 games as a rookie, missed most of his 2nd season, had some nagging injuries at Oklahoma St. and missed a few games there too. Now he's being "load managed" or whatever after a preseason game in which he looked rough. I hope like hell that the injuries are behind him but this is becoming a long list of injuries and he's missed a lot of valuable development time as a result so it's not like there aren't reasons to be concerned until he actually proves to stay healthy and on the right track with his overall game. As of now, he's a giant ???
  6. I get what you're saying but LaPorta in his first 6 games is in a completely different stratosphere than Rodrigo. I do find it funny (ironic perhaps?) that TP is calling others pessimistic though. It would be like Aaron Rodgers calling somebody else a narcissist.
  7. Brady didn't have much mobility in terms of speed but his pocket presence and ability to sidestep the rush was unmatched especially earlier in his career. His accuracy on deep balls was top notch as well. He didn't have a canon like Stafford or Rodgers but he consistently dropped dimes while the one knock on Goff is that he's inconsistent on the deep throws. Still, we're talking about a guy playing at an MVP level so this is just nitpicking.
  8. Accuracy and Football IQ is king. If you have those things, you'll be successful and Goff has that. His arm isn't quite as strong as Brady's and nobody manipulates a defense like Brady did but Goff has a similar skillset and mind for the game. He also stands in the face of pressure, especially now with his newfound confidence, so it's not like he needs a perfectly clean pocket to succeed.
  9. Campbell is the lynchpin in all of this, don't get it twisted. Goff's play actually started improving when Campbell himself took over playcalling. Not to diminish what Ben Johnson is doing and he's certainly a talented playcaller with a future as head coach but Coach MCDC is the one steering this ship.
  10. Jacobs has been great after the Seattle game and I don't even know how much the Seattle game was his fault since Geno had enough time to make a sandwich back there.
  11. I have a feeling you'll be saying that a lot on many future Sundays. Both a testament to how pathetic Lions history has been and how good this team is. A wild stat to me is that the Lions were 0-13-1 in Dan Campbell's first 14 road games and 7-1 in the last 8. Literally flipped a switch but we should have seen it coming because the Lions lost a whole crapload of close games not only early last season but the previous season as well so they were close and was only a matter of time until the dam broke and damn has it ever.
  12. This team is clinical. So many injuries, so much adversity against a tough team and they not only persevere, they dominate. There's something special brewing here. Also, and I've said it many times, pay Goff NOW. I know some want to wait and see until he wins playoff games but what more do you want from the guys right now, he's been arguably the best QB in the league in the last 16 games. Yeah, I said it. 28 TDs and 4 INTs and 13-3 in that timeframe. I don't see how he crumbles at this point, he's in complete command of this offense and all the weapons aren't even there yet.
  13. Ben Johnson is a stud. Dink and dunk all game (where's Jamo?) then sets them up on that last possession with a triple dose of Jamo, perfect timing to take those shots.
  14. It was better just to let the clock run out. It's a defensive game and the Lions get the ball first in the second half. Frankly, I was a bit surprised that they were aggressive to start that drive.
  15. I do too. I'm very bullish on him if he stays healthy but I just have a bad feeling that he will be a guy who is always battling injuries minor or not. The last 4 years, he's had everything from nagging injuries to a serious one. Definitely concerned
  16. The running and passing stats are pretty shocking considering that Montgomery is not known to be a big chunk getter and that Gibbs hasn't even gotten going yet and the big passing play stats considering that the Lions, on paper, don't have the personnel that you'd think would present big play threats and, two, that they have more big passing plays than Miami. It seems like Reynolds alone has accounted for like 10 of those. Just imagine when/if Gibbs and Jamo get going.
  17. Gregory was a nothing trade but otherwise, you're right. I guess my memory is starting to fade in my, gulp, now middle age.
  18. It's not like those guys are readily available and most of the big splash trades happen in the offseason anyway. I don't remember too many big deadline trades but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
  19. Absolutely buyers. You only get so many chances at a Superbowl run so take full advantage of it. I don't think they should sell the farm or anything like that but 3rd-5th round picks should be on the table to bring in solid players. If they want to shoot for the moon, and I doubt he's available, Maxx Crosby is a name that highly interests me. Gamewrecker in the trenches, still young and locked up long term, Michigan guy, definitely has that Detroit/Dan Campbell mentality. The cost would be crazy but if they go that route of big **** swinging move, he's the guy I'd shoot for. They'd have arguably the best offensive and defensive line in the league if they made that move, add in a top 5-8 QB which is what Goff is and you have instant SB contender.
  20. I get it, Happy Wife Happy Life. I have no such barriers to finding the stream of my choice so I guess I should be considered lucky. It's a pain at times to find a good one though.
  21. You trade Cousins especially with Jefferson out for a while, it's a no brainer for any organization with a brain which I question that Vikings management has. Older QB that is a UFA on a team that isn't a contender for the foreseeable future. They might just keep Cousins to make JJ happy and pay him top dollar and boy do I hope they do.
  22. There are plenty of free ways to watch the game, I've been doing that for years as an out of market fan (have never paid a dime to watch a Lions game) and I'm talking beyond watching at a bar or at a buddies house.
  23. No. it's 'Murica now and only massive positive overreactions are allowed
  24. lol, it's preseason. Ausar did hit the biggest shot that he took in the game. I think 1 preseason game is too early to determine that he can't shoot. Even if he never becomes a plus 3 point shooter which is quite possible, he does a lot of other things that help the team.
  25. It means nothing. The Lions wrecked him when it mattered.
