  1. Who? I don't recall that player. There's a milk carton somewhere with Josh Pascal's name on it. As for tonight, it's hard to envision a win when you have guys off the street going against Evans, Egbuka etc. but we'll see.
  2. It's for the better to not extend either. Ivey might never be the same after multiple leg injuries plus the question marks in his game already and Duren's major flaws are very apparent. He improved a bit last season but a guy who does nothing but dunk better be top notch defensively to compensate and he's not even average. There is something to be said for the chemistry he and Cade have developed in the pick and roll with being a lob threat and he does seem to fit the culture they're building but you don't give out big money to guys who just dunk and are culture fits so it appears that Langdon played this smartly.
  3. Ivey averaged almost 18ppg last season and scored efficiently, it's not such a leap to think that he can boost that scoring to 20ppg. I'm not a big fan of the fit with Ivey alongside Cade but the 20ppg scorer could be right there in house, the defense is another story but the Pistons have plenty of guys that can defend to offset that deficiency.
  4. The Baltimore win doesn't look as good only because Lamar got injured, that's still a SB contender with a healthy Lamar but, yes, they got their butts kicked by Green Bay and Kansas City in uncharacteristic Dan Campbell Lions fashion.
  5. This game is going as expected, I had this down as a loss. The Lions are too banged up and there's just no way the Chiefs were going 2-4. The concerning thing to me is that the Lions got whipped up front by Green Bay and Kansas City, this is not something that would happen to Lions teams of the last two years multiple times. Schedule is relentless so they're going to have to bring a better game than this to navigate it going forward. If they lose next week to Tampa homefield is pretty much a wrap with them being 3 games behind those guys, need to win that game.
  6. Same here, it's a likely loss with all the injuries and the Chiefs desperation plus you know Goodell doesn't want his new Golden Boy going 2-4 so look for some ref intervention tonight. All the odds are stacked against the Lions
  7. They also play at the Rams, at Vikings and at the Bears in January when it will be cold. Home games aren't any picnic either. Tampa, Minnesota, Green Bay, Dallas and Pittsburgh. It's a hellacious schedule with injuries (like the one to Burrow) but they're good enough to overcome it, it's going to be a grind though.
  8. What a ridiculous call against Anzalone, it's like the refs had a directive to gift a TD to the Bengals
  9. Well, the offense was pretty poor today. The Browns inept offense created a lot of short fields for the offense and the Kalif punt return TD made the score look like a good offensive performance when it wasn't but it's a positive when the Lions play their C Game and still win by 24 points.
  10. I've never seen a team name that represents the organization as much as Cleveland Browns. What a ****ty, stinky franchise. Just take this ugly W and run
  11. There's no way the Lions will be favored at Philly, highly unlikely at Kansas City, Washington and the Rams, probably not at Minnesota either.
  12. It's just one prominent poster really
  13. Just looking back, this really should have been a blowout. The Lions controlled a lot of the play (they were pretty much doubling the Ravens in yards before the final Stat Padfordering drive), they dropped a few INTs and the refs were atrocious with the "behind the line of scrimmage" throw to Gibbs that killed the 2nd drive of the game, the phantom Branch personal foul that essentially gifted the Ravens a FG to make it 28-24, oh right the FG that wasn't actually good. Amazing that they essentially beat the Ravens by multiple scores with all of that stacked against them. Now the schedule doesn't look as daunting as it once did. The Bengals without Burrow and the Chiefs are a bit beat up and just not what they used to be. These will still be tough games and the Lions can win against anybody anyway but the first half schedule doesn't look as tough as it appeared to be a few weeks ago.
  14. I don't care what the final score said, the Lions dominated those suckers. THAT was a statement win to all the skeptics who said that the Lions Superbowl window closed. I'd love for them to get another crack at the Packers right now.
  15. The Packers look good now but I don't put much stock into early season results. Obviously they count as much as late season results but it takes teams a while to find their true selves during the regular season as it takes time for teams to develop chemistry and get used to the regular season grind so I think it's a wait and see on every team to really know how good or bad they are outside of the Bears who always suck.
  16. Well the team, fans and, hell, the city of Detroit needed this. Everybody acting like this was SOL all week was getting tiresome to read.
  17. Beasley acting like he's Lebron or something with "The Decision". Who would have thought before last season that Cade would be on a top 15 player list. He sure has come a long way, hopefully he doesn't get all fat and happy with the new success and keeps working hard to get better.
  18. This is a bit different, there's more question marks than there were the previous few seasons. With that said, it is too early to press the panic button but there are some very real issues that won't be so easily fixed overnight.
  19. I've been saying it all offseason that I think it's going to be a rough start to the season because the Lions aren't nearly as good on the lines which is where most games are won and with the loss of the coordinators and the adjustments that will come with that. I still think it's a playoff team but it's going to take time for it to gel, I just hope the Lions aren't out of it already by the time that happens because the schedule is absolutely brutal and unforgiving.
  20. Yeah, I think Branch is the most likely one they move on from or Jamo. There's a possibility that Branch might be worth $30m/yr if he continues on this trajectory, love Branch and all but you just can't pay two safeties over $50m/yr even in a rising cap world. I know he has versatility but he's not an outside corner and that's where the money should be allocated in the secondary.
  21. I think they might lose two of Branch, Jamo and LaPorta. I think Gibbs will surely get signed, probably Jack Campbell too eventually. They won't be able to pay everybody unless they do some serious cap gymnastics
  22. Yep, that's what I'm thinking or at the very least Hutch wanted Watt and Parsons to set the market until signing which, oh boy, they certainly did. Now we're looking at Hutch getting upwards of $50m if he has a big season which he most certainly will if healthy. The Lions are going to lose a few core guys, we should just come to terms with that.
  23. The schedule, the very young interior offensive line, the defensive line being banged up and the ever present weakness at edge opposite of Hutch (we all know Davenport will be injured at some point). I can see this being a 10-7 or 11-6 season but being one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs once the offensive line matures and Alim is back, although I don't think we'll see him back to previous form until '26-'27. I could see a real possibility that this team has a much worse record than last year but is better going into the playoffs than last year assuming relatively good health.
  24. I hear you, fair enough. The Bengals can ask for that all they want but I don't see a team ponying up that much for a 30+ year old due for a monster extension.
  25. Hutch is going to get over $40m/yr so on a 4 year deal it's likely $160m or possibly a good deal more than that depending on what Parsons signs for if he's up first. Also, Campbell is going to be a huge part of the Lions defense going forward so there's absolutely no way he's being traded for anything most likely and certainly not for a 30 year old Hendrickson due for a huge extension. Adding a 1st? No chance no way no how.
