I don't know..one the one hand, committing the $$ needed to keep Skubal seems like a poor investment, ( unless he turns out to be in the Verlander/Clemens/Randy Johnson model of pitching effectively for a a long time) especially if you can get a very nice haul in exchange for him. On the other, trading him sends a message that you can't keep the talent you develop...that you can't have nice things. Only New York and LA get to develop and keep mega stars.
