Alim's new deal seems to set the table for an acquisition ..we know what it will cost now to keep im..that give Holmes and co a budget to work wihin to create The Greatest DLine of Our Times
Take a run at trading for Brent Rooker from Vegas/Oakland...he'd give you that RH power bat this team sorely lacks and the A's are always on the hunt for prospects. Jung, Hamm and Lee? Vierling plays 3rd. I think Sweeney is our boy at SS. We have the $$ to go after Alonso..would love to see that. But a cheaper alternative would be OK. With the young talent we have on hand and in the pipeline...I think we look like a much more attractive FA destination than we did last year
Holl looked good...Johansson was solid. Edvinsson is going to be good..seems to have better offensive instincts than MO. They're going to be a a really good top pair.
Top line should be Tarasenko..Larkin and Raymond. Cat...Compher and Kane on the second line until Danielson and Kasper get here.
Watson waived...looks like the choice came down to Bergy...who has to be waived to ship out...vs Kasper who does not.
Watson should clear and be brought back as needed.
As I recall..Landry was pretty good at times...at one point he had the record for most rushing yards in a season by a QB...until Bobby Douglass went for just under a thousand yds in a 14 game season.
Without looking up his stats...I think injuries were an issue
Will be surprised if Kasper doesn't stay in Detroit...will also be surprised if MBN isn't starting the year in GR with Danielson
Going to need a competent vet to work in GR with Cossa. Lethemon is playing in Finland so he's out. Former draft pick Keith Petruzelli is available...but he doesn't have a ton of experience.
Maybe they waive one of the three they have on the roster and hope he sneaks through?
73 Mets World Series run was improbable...they had Seaver, Matlack, Koosman, McGraw and some cook named Staub...and the dying gasps of Willie Mays. They just found ways to win...
