Those were some tough, tough years for hockey in Detroit...every time they started making headway they'd do something stupid ...like trading Mike Foligno or Murray Craven (for one year of a shot Daryl Sittler) or signing Rogie Vachon as a FA...a move that eventually cost them 1st round picks in 1980 and 1981 and then flipping picks with Minnesota so they could draft Brian Bellows while we got the pick that became Craven and the drugged out Don Murdoch who played a half a season in Detroit. It was a never ending nightmare that didn't start to abate until Yzerman hit town and the drafting improved

Hate to be contrarian...but I think it's a wee bit early to say definitively what you have with either player or how they could fit together going forward. They're both talented players...good teams keep talented players. Plus...you have 144 minutes of basketball across the 3-4-5, that's a lot of minutes to spread around.

The Lopez signing is going to be sneaky big. Had a lot of pressures from DT last season...

Duren has gotten better defensively this year..he's not Stew at the rim, but who is? I like what he brings to the table offensively ....he's got a decent handle and can pass the ball, plus he's got an undeniable chemistry with Cade.

Really enjoying the way Cade and Duren play together. Having Kelser calling the games...it really brings to mind what Magic and Kelser had working in their championship season. And it really seems like Blaha has kicked it up a notch this year...

You compare the Pistons FA additions from the summer..Beasley, Harris and Hardaway jr...all of those guys have played a huge part in the team's resurgence. To SY off-season adds and it's pretty easy to see why the Pistons are in the playoff mix and the Wings are fading Is SY the 4th best GM in town?

Signing Tarasenko and Gustafsson worked out horribly. Kane has provided some juice on the PP and the 2nd line, but he doesn't work at all on defense. Not a good summer at all

Only seen Buzelus a time or two..but he looked horrible on D. Holland works hard on D. I wanted Shaedon Sharpe over Ivey...glad we didn't make that pick.

The annual signs that spring is coming...the buzzards come back, the frogs start calling and the Wings tank their way out of playoff contention. Will this be the year we get some lottery luck? Be nice to get a crack at an explosive scorer like Michael Misa As it sits right now..there are 7 guys on this team I'd like to see next year. Raymond, Larkin, Kasper, Cat, Mo, Edvinsson and Johansson...maybe 8 if you think Elmer belongs. The rest of them? Meh...

Cossa is in his second good year in the AHL. He needs to see some NHL time to continue his development. Don't want to give minutes to Talbot and Mrazek just to "over marinate" Cossa.

I'll take Smith over Veleno as his contract is up. Not OK with getting Mrazek

Hope they move Talbot...otherwise we go into 2025/26 with almost 7 mil tied up in two "meh" goalies and no room for Cossa to play in Detroit
