  1. Both Livers and Bey are really good three point shooters. Hard to say who is better until we see more of a sample size. I think think Bey has a quicker release but Livers has improved a lot in that area as well. I do know Livers has more limitations than Bey outside of shooting. Livers can't put the ball on the floor at all. Bey can a little bit. That said, I think one of the biggest issues with Bey right now is he is putting the ball on the floor too much and not pulling the trigger when he is open from three. If Bey continues down that road, then Livers is the better option.
  2. Huge letdown. Bogdanovic played awesome down the stretch but nobody else could do anything. Cade goes from looking looking like an all-star in the first half to scoring 4 points in the second half and having more turnovers than assists.
  3. Saddiq throws up a wild shot and gets bailed out by a foul. That possession is a great example of why we are bad and why Casey is a terrible coach. That is what get on the most important possession of the game.
  4. Cade did get hit with the body on that fast break. Frustrating but that is not going to get called very often when it is such a clean block up top.
  5. Of course Stewart can't get a rebound on the most important possessions of the game. It's insanity to play him as the only big man against the other teams starters. He either needs to be a bench player or be playing next to another big guy in the starting lineup. We are give up third and fourth chance opportunities and that makes it extremely hard to win.
  6. Man Bogdanovic really is fearless. I don't know why but I feel bad for him that he is on the Pistons.
  7. The 7 turnovers are killer too. I think he is looking too pass too much again and that also leads to more turnovers. A lot of his turnovers seem to come off passes.
  8. I love what I have seen out of Ivey in the very early going of this season but it's hard to not to wonder if part of the reason Bogdanovic and Cade are playing so well off each other tonight is because Ivey is not out there. It's probably a coincidence but there's a small chance it's not.
  9. Bey is a better player than Livers but I do agree Bey is out of sync. He should be a catch and shoot guy but he doesn't seem to have the confidence for that.
  10. How bout Cade? Needed to see this out of him. So much more fun to watch a game when you see him play like this. Also makes you wonder about the chemistry with Ivey.
  11. Makeup call there. No way that was a foul on Trae Young.
  12. It feels like some BS calls against the Pistons right now. Hunter sold that offensive foul on Bogey and that was not a goal tend.
  13. Killian looks like he has regressed from last year. Hard to imagine.
  14. These uniforms make it look like we are watching the Suns. Hard to see it's red/blue and not orange/purple from far away against the Black.
  15. I agree with this. The best way forward is to keep leaning into Cade has a shooter/scorer and live with the results whatever they may be. If he ends up being a bad #1 pick, so be it. But at this point, we still need to proceed like he is our franchise player. And he's not going to be our franchise player just setting other guys up. There is enough possessions in a game to give both Ivey and Cade plenty of chances to play primarily with the ball. It's incumbent on Casey to make sure one of them is on the court at all times.
  16. I don't think Cade is uninterested. I just don't think he knows how or is good enough to lift a poorly constructed team with a bad coach. His instinct his entire basketball life is to make other players around him better. But when we you have a coach who doesn't know how to build an offense and a center who can't finish in traffic, you are handicapping him. Add to that the fact he is not a very good shooter at this point and an average athlete and you have a confluence of issues that are making him look like a bad #1 overall pick. I agree with your other takes. This team is not fun to watch and Casey is not the right coach to develop the young players.
  17. I do think there is a lot to be said for Ivey being more the point guard. While I do agree Cade is overly passive, it's not going to help this team for him to be more aggressive unless he actually becomes a high percentage scorer.
  18. The Wizards don't have Beal right now. We got beat pretty easy by a Pacers team that probably won't make the playoffs. And we got run off the court by the Knicks, who are good, by not great. I am wondering if we can even get to 20 wins this year. Yikes. This is not what people were expecting. Many thought the Pistons were an up and coming team to watch and could possibly contend for a playoff berth.
  19. I don't know what the answer is for Cade. Last year, I felt like his craftiness and ability to go left or right were enough to offset the lack of size and athletic ability. Now I question that. At the end of the day, he is probably going to have to be not just a decent shooter but a really good shooter for the Pistons to get something like top 5 pick value from him. In his defense, it's not helping that he doesn't play with a big guy that can flush it off a good pass.
  20. If he wasn't a lottery pick just 3 years ago, he would not be in the NBA.
  21. I was just thinking how fun it would be to have him on a good team. He's a great complimentary piece to a team that has some stars.
  22. Cade is extremely frustrated. He is completely out of sorts and playing about as bad as he can play.
  23. Cade does look more aggressive in the early going. Shot still not falling though.
  24. Also, Kyle Lowry must have saved Casey's coaching career. He broke out at just the right time and it didn't matter how poor of a coach Casey was coaching offense.
  25. I need reasons to stay invested in Pistons games. Even the young core is not enough now. Please show something tonight.
