We use blue and I think most do as well. The green was likely them paying homage to Thomas Keller since his places are famous for using neon green and the use of painters tape to label containers supposedly started at his place, The French Laundry. They hated the residue that masking tape left behind when you peel it off. And I don't know if it is true or not, but the rumor is Keller has fired people for not cutting the tape off evenly with scissors. I doubt he actually fired anyone. But he is famous for wanting the tape cut off exactly even with scissors.

Yeah, that was kind of a low point for me. Even worse since the safety mechanisms are rather simple and you do not need a technician to fix them. Our maintenance guys maintain and fix ours. Your average DIY homeowner could fix it.
