Kyle Karros is playing for the Rockies. His dad is Eric Karros. I remember when his dad was a rookie. Yikes.

As far as geographical realignment goes, it seems irrelevant. Teams fly to their locations. It's not like they are taking a greyhound bus or riding the train. This isn't 1947. And there really isn't any egregious examples of teams misplaced. The AL West is the only division that even has anything questionable with the two Texas teams with Seattle. -

They have a AAA team that averages under 7k per game. A city and area of over a million...that's awful. They would need to draw at least 4.5x that per game to be average. A city like Lansing with an A ball team draws nearly 5k a game. They are affiliated with the Pirates. Maybe the Pirates should just move to Indy and have Pittsburgh as their AAA team. -

Cut 4 home games off the schedule -

No way will they ever cut games off the schedule. They aren't going to lose the revenue from those games. Plus I'm sure TV contracts probably require so many dates. I cant believe there would be a realignment like that. Having Boston, both NY teams, and Philly in same division would be disastrous. The league loves it when all those teams are in the playoffs and this would assure probably 2 of those teams would not make it. Manfred doesnt really make any decisions. The owners make the decisions and they arent going to radically change the nl/al alignment and I cant believe they would cut 4 games off the schedule. -
I am guessing he won't make 6 more regular season starts and they will start to limit his innings more down the stretch, especially if they have the division wrapped up.

The issue is usually the owner. Look at Detroit when Ilitch Sr took over. He didn't really try to win for the first 15 years. Most people stopped caring or following them. I grew up in the mid 90s and didn't care about baseball at all even though I played a year in college. He started investing in talent and people started following the team again. Pizza Jr didn't try to win for 10 years or whatever. Most people stopped caring about the team. The last year and a half the Tigers started winning and people started caring again. The league should really crack down on trash owners and force them to actually try. Not sure what metric to use but they could do something. Maybe tie tv money into their effort? -

Just seems like a tough sell to expand while there are 3 or 4 teams where the fan base just doesn't care. Pittsburgh, Tampa, Miami, Cincinnati, Minnesota Miami is the real crime. Get better ownership in that city and they would thrive -
What was missing from the roster was a reliever who walks the lead off guy and then gives up a hard hit double to the power alley. Welcome back Alex Lange.

Only 3 of the top 12 teams by payroll are missing the 12 team playoff. 6, 8 & 11 are missing and 16, 17 & 23 are in. This seems about what would be expected. Especially since it was only possible for 11 of the top 12 teams to make the playoffs since 7 of the top 12 are in the NL. Teams that spend the money have a better chance of making the playoffs. -

It can be difficult for an expansion baseball team because you have 81 home games, and the majority of them are weekday evenings. Most people don't follow baseball that closely, and not many people want to go to 81 baseball games (or can afford it). It's not like the NFL where you can stick a team pretty much anywhere and people will go to the games. And if the team sucks, look at the Tigers the last decade, no one goes. It seems like you could relocate teams like the Pirates or Marlins, but that isn't going to happen. And you end up getting guys like Paul Skenes forced to toil for some awful franchise that doesn't even try to win. -

I would think Nashville and N Carolina are the two most logical places. With Salt Lake City not far behind. I wonder if the Albuquerque area would support a team. I have never been to New Mexico so I am not sure what it is even like. -

The wealth issue was one of the roadblocks, but one of the posters on here would have went into lunatic mode and called me racist for pointing that out just like when I said Detroit had a high homicide rate so I decided to spare him the emotional trauma. -
This is going to be a bloodbath against the pitchers. The over/under is 8.5. This game will reach that by inning #4. Hopefully, the Tigers can get a big enough lead early.

I wonder if mlb is considering Mexico City for a franchise. Definitely has the population and probably the interest but there are other factors that may be roadblocks. Putting a team in the Caribbean would also be a challenge, but there would be the interest for sure. -

Why would he want to go back to Old Dominion and risk an arm injury when he could be making millions? He had to have known he would be in the majors like super duper quickly. He pitched 20 games before being called up to the Tigers. He was basically Paul Skenes in the fast track to stardom. -
Like pushing Paddock to get through 2 or 3 innings before it snowballs?

If an expansion draft were to take place this off season, I would recommend the Tigers to not protect Chris Paddock. -
The good news is I have Buxton on both of my fantasy baseball teams. I knew Paddack wouldn't let me personally down.

Drafting Skubal in the 9th round was a great pick. Arm surgery and coming off a so so college career. And Verlander has to be the best Tigers pick ever, just imagine the idiot GM that picked future convict Matt Bush 1st ahead of Verlander that year just because he was a local guy? -

I'm guessing 2 will be busts, 1 will be a starter and one will be an above average player -
What a shock, Chris Paddock sucks again.

Tarik Skubal's 2025 season will be the greatest season ever by a Detroit Tiger pitcher. It's shaping up to surpass last season. Better than when Verlander won the MVP, better than Scherzer's Cy Young season. Head and shoulders better than Morris's 84. -
For his generation, his peak years are only behind Albert Pujol's peak.
