  1. Like the new feature on MLB Gameday; See the action and where people are etc. The upper left moves to show where the ball is hit and where players are moving around.
  2. Well that is a nickname that should stick if he does poorly as a reliever
  3. I am guessing you had 30-40 year olds in charge at that time and that would have lined up with the popularity of baseball with their youth so they made what they wished they had as a kid.
  4. Honestly, Brieske not making the team out of spring training is unfortunate. Obviously, he will be up here eventually, but he deserved to make the squad. I guess this is the fortunate part of getting better that this is even a question.
  5. Interesting notes from Skubal here
  6. Pretty sure all of these has QO so you'd be giving up draft capital for 1-2 years on some rather flawed players.
  7. I know he had been giving up some HR's on his hits but that is a little surprising to me that Manning went down.
  8. Benetti is doing March Madness so Dan Dickerson is doing play by play for Bally today.
  9. Looks pretty close to an opening-day lineup.
  10. Nothing crazy here but down to 34
  11. He has had a pretty good spring...
  12. Manning cements himself as the #2 starter behind Skubal and Riley play 140+ games
  13. No way Holton doesn't make this team out of ST.
  14. They have said they only planned for one so I don't think so.
  15. I am not sure I would be willing to give up the draft capital for a single year of Snell.
  16. https://www.mlb.com/news/detroit-tigers-spring-training-prospect-report-2024?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage It's easy to look at those recent successes and believe they're reproducible with two 2023 top-40 picks in Max Clark and Kevin McGonigle. But there's a key difference in the developmental paths. Everyone in the previous paragraph is at least 21 years old. Clark and McGonigle -- both high schoolers this time last year -- are only 19. Detroit is in for the long haul. "It will be the same processes, but they're going to be even more process-driven if that makes sense," said Tigers vice president of player development Ryan Garko. "They didn't have those college years in a big program like Jace and some of the other guys have. So I think we do a lot more in the weight room, a lot more education around their bodies, around routines, around health, around the grind of the season. Everything's going to be new to them. There's nothing that can prepare you for a full professional season until you've gone and done it."
  17. One of the beat writers brought up the fact that Olson could miss Super Two status if he stays down in Toledo for the first couple of weeks of the season so that may also be a factor.
  18. Sam Dykstra was saying the biggest thing will be to see if he can keep velocity up through the year as that has been a knock in the past.
