  1. It seems scoring is up all over (just an observation no real data), usually early in the season pitchers have the edge but so far that does not seem to be the case.

  4. Workman with a 4/4 3B 2 HR day in a 17-6 loss. If he could just cut down on those strikeouts.
  5. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/spencer-torkelson-talks-hitting/ Not much of note here but interesting to see how Tork basically said he doesn't really look at analytics.
  6. Agreed, I feel like because he was drafted so high he has different expectations on return but honestly he can't stay healthy and they weren't going to exercise that 5th-year option anyway.
  7. Good to see Wenceel is tearing up Lakeland on his rehab assignment.
  8. Oh I completely agree, I am generally more of a proponent of selecting a position player over a pitcher in the 1st round especially early but I wouldn't want the org to box itself in to say no way we would do that. Obviously, the Jobe selection is fresh in everyone's mind and honestly, I get it I just wouldn't write off taking a pitcher in the top 5 if you feel he is a better value.
  9. I mean I agree, you may weigh things based on that but the Angels took pitchers in all 20 rounds of 2021 so it isn't completely unheard of.
  10. I personally feel that is part of determining the BPA by taking into account all of the risks/. Also to play devil's advocate if you feel like a college pitcher at 3 is too risky then picking Verlander at 2 was a mistake as well.
  11. Keith in the Top 100 where he belongs
  12. BPA in all rounds. Drafting for position makes less sense in MLB than in other drafts.
  13. Wilmer getting the start for Erie's opening day. I am a little surprised he wasn't pushed to AAA with Olsen.
  14. Tigers get the 2nd most draft capital. Will be interesting to see how Harris and Co go about their first draft. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-draft-2023-bonus-pools-pick-values?t=mlb-draft-coverage
  15. Baddoo, Meadows, and Lipcius all homer, and Meadows and Baddoo add a two-bagger for good measure. Malloy went 2/2 with 2BB.
  16. I didn't realize Wentz had that kind of movement on the fastball. I mean sure he didn't quite get it in the zone but it sure looks good.
  17. Keith with a good-looking swing first pitch HR.
  18. Honestly, down 0-2 and it got out of there quickly
  19. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/tigers/ New top 30 from MLB - Jobe, Jung, Flores, Keith, Madden are your top 5
  20. Cody Stavenhagen and Evan Petzold are my two.
  21. Here is a really interesting thread on how arbitration is done and how teams and players represent themselves.
  22. Honestly, Olson being in front of Jobe is surprising especially given his probable move to the bullpen.
  23. More Colt Keith coverage https://blogs.fangraphs.com/sunday-notes-approach-altered-tigers-prospect-colt-keith-is-looking-to-loft/
