  1. One team I would keep an eye on is the Padres. If Avila can try (which I know is asking a lot) to convince Chris to open up his pocketbook a little more the Padres are up against tax ceiling which probably would limit who they would be willing to take on not only in our trades but others. That being said if we were willing to ship a reliever and depending on which one would obviously change the return value but if we were to take on Snell's contract that would open them up to adding more but that would also allow for the possibility of getting a much larger haul.
  2. Not sure this has been posted here but I feel like the kid would work well with Baez.
  3. I am curious as to the shakeup we will see after the AS break. Usually you will see some moves happen after the ASB to move players up and down levels.
  4. Only thing I would say here is I would expect Turnbull to be in the rotation in 2023 as he has already began throwing from the mound. Will he be effective? Who knows but he will probably be on a inning limit. As for the other two holes Brieske will probably be one of those fillers. E-Rod's Replacement Skubal Brieske Turnbull Manning/Wentz/Faedo/Flores/Olson/Madden? As this year has taught us we can expect to probably dip into our minors to fill in some of the starts and we will probably sign someone similar to Pineda as well.
  5. Just a quick blurb on Gold by Keith Law: Luke Gold, 2B, Boston College Gold doesn’t swing and miss much, and almost never missed a fastball this year, but he’s never really hit for average in three seasons with Boston College, and with fringy power and a walk rate under 10 percent, he needs to do more damage on all that contact he’s making. He has a no-load, no-strike approach, with a toe tap as a timing mechanism but no real weight transfer, which might be why he can’t translate his impressive bat control into better results, especially on non-fastballs. He’s played mostly second base for the Eagles with a little bit of third, and if someone can turn all this contact into more production, he could be a solid regular at either spot.
  6. That would be my one problem so far. I understand some of these picks could make it to the OF but honestly there are only so many AB's to go around in the minors. I am guessing people will start getting pushed faster up the ladder.
  7. Agreed, also the impatient part of me also says that since most have been position players we should see them in the minors playing this year rather than starting next like they do with the pitchers.
  8. From Fangraphs: Rated their #100 Gold has plus bat speed and pull power but he may not have a position due to issues with throwing accuracy.
  9. Luke Gold 3B
  10. I just noticed after I was looking to see if he was on fangraphs 🤦‍♂️
  11. Troy Melton RHP
  12. Texas takes Porter, Rocker and Porter not a bad draft for TX so far.
  13. Null Null was who I was hoping we would get.
  14. Angels take Ben Joyce, touched 105 during the season
  15. I much prefer the pace of the later rounds this 10+ minutes per pick from last night was pretty hard. I actually had to mute it because of the cringe of it all.
  16. This is kind of what my thought was, find someone who may have lost his shine a bit but if you look at his AAA stats he is an All-Star. Might just need a new environment and he is young enough to still turn it around. This is the types of things I would love for our FO to do but at the same time no idea who is offering what or who is or isn't available.
  17. When I see things like this I feel like it is aimed at an older audience to make them more excited for a new kid, is it BS? Of course but nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
  18. For me, I would love to try to flip someone like Soto to the Mariners for one of their younger OF's they have waiting in the wings (Kelenic preferably) but I am not sure if Soto get's that done but they do need bullpen help.
  19. Someone must be using voice-to-text
  20. I am disappointed overall, had some high hopes after the signings and was hopeful to get league average from some our rookies. That being said this team has been decimated by injuries on the pitching side and all things considered that has been a bright spot. Getting real value out of pitchers like Brieske, Foley, Vest is far more than I could have hoped for. I do feel a bit that this season has a bit of a cursed feel to it. With Greene getting injured prior to the season, Meadows with the crazy amount of randomness that has kept him out, E-Rod going AWOL, the whole team essentially forgetting how to hit. I am guessing this is similar to what the Twins felt last year. High expectations only to basically have nothing work out as they planned. That being said I am/will still follow the team the rest of the year if only for individual progress for players like Baddoo, Greene, Skubal, Brieske and Tork if he makes it back up.
  21. I will say Graham looks like his frame could add on some muscle or weight in general . That being said he leverages the hell out of what he does have. https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/34250081 Also not bad when both picks are BA 1st Team All Americans
  22. And outside of Carpenter, Meadows, maybe Campos there isn't really an OF who could be considered a highly rated prospect in the system.
