Honestly, I think you brought it up when they got him that by acquiring him they knew he would have to be protected in the rule 5 and put on the 40 man and we did MN a favor by making it easier on them and their 40 man. Good thing there is quite a bit of dead weight that can be slid off of it after the season.

Farm rankings, Tigers come in at 22 sandwiched between KC and Minnesota with WS coming in at 26 and Cleveland coming in 3rd.
"Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson are off prospect lists, yet the Tigers continue their tradition of having first-rounders in the Top 100 with Jobe (2021) and Jung (2022). Right-handers Wilmer Flores and Ty Madden give the club two more Top-100-adjacent talents on the mound. But as a whole, this group lacks the ceiling it had in the preseason when Greene and Torkelson looked like potential stars, and it isn’t deep enough to overcome that and push into the Top 20."
Lets check in with our top 10 draftees. SSS obviously.

Jung .216/.349/.624
Graham .191/.304/.559

Serretti .313/.593/1.155
Stephenson .235/.316/.551
Jenkins .269/.406/.829
Pitchers:
Melton DNP
Miller 7.2 ERA 2 starts 5IP
Michael Pitched at 3 levels already. He will be 25 soon. has a 27.00 ERA at WM with 1 IP.
I was bored and wanted to check out some of the DSL Tigers and obviously statline hunting is not the best way to evaluate prospects but Reylin Perez from this years international signings is raking in the DSL (high babip as well). Below is the only video I could find of him.
If I had to guess I think it has to do with a rule in which the tigers don't let pitchers have more than 25 or 30 pitches in an inning which is why he was taken out.
Pipeline updated with new draftees. Top 5:
1. Jackson Jobe, RHP (41st in MLB)
2. Jace Jung, 2B (74th in MLB)
3. Wilmer Flores, RHP
4. Ty Madden, RHP
5. Peyton Graham, SS
Surprise for me in the inclusion of Elvis Alvarado who was a minor league Rule 5 pickup who is a converted OF and the dropping of Santana to 11th even with the solid showing he has had this season.

I'm right there with you but I temper my expectations with the fact he can't hit lefties right now so he definitely has something he needs to work on but I can't help to think that between him, Perez, Keith, and Lipcius that the poaching we did from the Dodgers is starting to bear some fruit.
Keith out for the season which we kind of already knew.
Keith (right shoulder) out for Minor League season (Aug. 9)
No. 11 prospect Colt Keith will not return this regular season but could be ready for the Arizona Fall League, according to vice president of player development Ryan Garko
