Please only use Perez as a defensive replacement today.................... You know the squirrel thing. But if you expect him to somehow find a nut today you would probably be wrong. -

Just how many men did Riley leave on third base this year with less than two outs? I think he could've had at least 30 more RBIs if he just puts the ball in play anywhere instead of striking out. The Tiger's reluctance to take slumping hitters out of the lineup down the stretch was inexcusable. We should've seen a couple of those minor league players come up for a few games. There is no reason why that couldn't have happened. If Tiger management thought that staying with what they had was good enough, they were proved wrong. -

The Tigers are long overdue for a lopsided win. The Guardians are long overdue for a lopsided loss. No better time than today for that to happen. -
I can't believe a major league manager would not replace a guy who is killing his offense. Let alone bat him third in the order. Perez is totally lost at the plate. He might as well attempt to bunt because he's not hitting it by swinging. If he happens to hit the ball, it will be by accident.

or a HeeHaw song..................

They're not gonna turn Wencel around? The guy is completely lost at the plate. It won't matter. He needed to be sent packing a month ago.
-
Hey Tiger righthanded hitters, Almost every pitch is OUTSIDE!!!!!!! Take the pitch to RIGHTFIELD!!!!! This lack of adjustments is insane.
-
Perez looks completely lost at the plate. It's time to give his ABs to someone else. But at least never bat him in the top 7 in the order. But that's the problem. The Tigers currently have 5 or 6 guys who need to be batting 8th or 9th or just plain sitting the bench.

If Jack keeps his cool and only gives up a couple of solo homeruns, I like our chances. Hey, it worked last night for Casey.............................

He's due.

So.......let's hope that Elvis will only be in the building for a short time tonight.

It's pretty sad when a "hot streak" for Riley would mean a whole game without striking out......... It would be interesting to see how many games he has played this year without striking out at least once.

Chris Fetters is going to be one busy guy saving the careers of all these new pitchers......................... He's gonna need a better contract.

The ship is taking on water. Hinch needs a bigger pump soon or he's going down with the ship.

2025 Detroit Tigers General Discussion Thread

A Corvette is a Chevy..................Just sayin' -
Just have to solve the Meadows, Vierling, Sweeny & Rogers hitting woes. Oh yeah.....and the bullpen. Not an easy task by any means. Perhaps last year's trade deadline work needs to happen again. It was addition by subtraction. Hate to see that happen, because these guys are very likable and can be successful. But can the team afford to wait? It should be a couple of interesting weeks ahead for Tiger fans.

How about Oklahoma City or Omaha? -
Yep.........might have to trade some of that young talent. But you never know when a Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz type of trade will happen.

His annual $1,198,248.20 check is still coming to him until 2035 according to what I read. Not a bad retirement huh?

The MLB TV deals are stupid. They definitely don't cater to baseball fans. If they want more people following the MLB, they need to make games more accessible, not less.
-
That's a black hole in leftfield tonight with a lifetime .226 hitter there instead of Riley. Meadows, Vierling, and Perez can't get back here soon enough. Prove me wrong Akil. .226 is generous. The last three years .143, .137, & .218

R.I.P. Chet Lemon. A true Tiger great.
roarintiger1 replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Chet Lemon was 1/4 of that great defense up the middle for the 1984 Tigers. He was fun to watch and seemingly loved to play the game. It was hard to see him at the 40th reunion with his health struggles. I'm glad he is no longer suffering and we are all better Tiger fans for those of us who saw him play. BTW, I sat in the bleachers for a doubleheader back in the day. Those seats were hard on the behind. But I think we paid like $4 to sit there. What a bargain! There used to be a guy out there every game leading the cheers. Anyone remember him? -
I just wonder how many times a player has hit three homers in a game only to be intentionally walked for the rest of the game? I don't think I'd pitch to the guy after he has already hit three in the game.
