  1. I noticed that, too.
  2. And yet when he was doxed where did he go to hide? To his mother's house. Sounds like he'd be most comfortable under the Taliban.
  3. I'd love to see him do some of those jobs he seems to think are so easy.
  4. Thank you! I knew I had heard it somewhere, and recently.
  5. True. I remember reading about one man, upon being asked how he felt about a colleague being so much richer than he was, who said: "I have something he will never have. I have enough." I really wish I knew who to credit...
  6. Well he's partially right-we DO want to destroy his influence. He's complaining also about people being happy about Tesla stock going down. He asked "who does that?" as if he didn't celebrate cutting people's jobs by wielding a chainsaw onstage. Side note: should somebody on drugs even be using that kind of equipment? And by the way, Elon, if you want to save Tesla then all you have to do is step down and let somebody else run it. I think you'll be financially okay.
  7. How the heck did I miss this???? I was about a 5 minute walk away returning books to the BPL.
  8. One of the managers I work with has a Bolt. He likes it but only uses it for city driving-quite a lot less than you do from the sounds of it. I have no idea how long it takes him to charge it or how long the charge lasts. I thought they stopped making it, though.
  9. There are a lot of towns in NY and New England that were built to be walkable and they were-until a lot of the stores were moved into shopping centers outside of downtown. Many of them could still be walkable since many of the structures are still there-but sadly it's not a priority. I'm just old enough to remember whole families going downtown not only to shop, but to meet up with friends and family. It's nice when you can get all of your errands and socializing done in a small area.
  10. I know a couple of people who are going through that now. Both have been in the country for decades.
  11. Isn't that the same exact letter you got the last time?
  12. Have they come up with the equivalent of the Horst Wessel song?
  13. One time I had an order that was apparently lost, so I clicked on 'leave seller feedback' and left a comment about the (nonexistent) delivery process. It ended up getting a comment 'this is not feedback about the seller, it's for the delivery service' but all of a sudden my product was found, and delivered the next day. Keep in mind that this could be a coincidence, and that I can't say for sure if my 'feedback' lit a fire under anybody.
  14. Big Bird would most likely be more trustworthy than most of the current administration.
  15. I suppose this is more amusing than it is a pet peeve.... I was bored, and decided to do a search for 'walkable small towns in the US." The first option I saw? New York. As much as I love NY and how walkable it is, I'm gonna go ahead and say that it's not small.
  16. While I haven't seen this post in a while, I remember MAGAts used to post something that indicated they wanted a dynasty of Trumps-including Barron once he's old enough. I think they really do want a royal family-even though I still can't believe anybody would look at members of that family and say "yeah, that's royalty all right!"
  17. I thought his name was Krasnov?
  18. And all of the listed advances (medical, worker safety, sanitation) meant more babies/children grew up to be adults. So much for progress!
  19. Back when workers owed their souls to the company store...
  20. And yikes on the memory issue... one of the fun parts about being a middle aged woman is what we call menofog.
  21. It could be simply who was polled. A lot of people (me included) will not answer phones or take surveys online either. And to be fair, I think a lot of registered Democrats are not satisfied with the way the Ds in Washington are handling things right now-in fact some are furious. I don't know how many for the same reason I can't say this poll is accurate.
  22. He can't stand that there's a place people can go and get books, movies, and a lot of other things for free.
  23. True, and I remember that looking at a computer all day did a number on my eyes, and I had a lot of headaches. And that was 25 years ago, so I can't imagine what it would be like for me today. As much as I love working, I do want to be able to retire one day.
  24. I'm not exactly sure where this belongs, but I'm getting emails for a 14 day trial for Amazon Health. I do NOT trust Amazon for healthcare, and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
  25. Also it's often people who don't work physically demanding jobs who are saying that working at the age of 88 is a good thing. I always said that I didn't want to stop working until I was around 70, but now my body is beginning to tell me that I'll most likely have retire quite a bit earlier. And, based on what I hear from others in my field, I'm far from alone.
