but how do you change that without the states that would cede power cooperating and why would they? I'm not saying it's the right way... but it's the way it is and its not going to change. You cant change the senate without an amendment. We will never pass another constitutional amendment.

The issue is we are a nation of states. The House represents the people and they have certain roles. The Senate represents the states and they have cerrtain roles. If we make congress strictly democratic representation then there's no need to have two houses in our legislature.... and at that point why we even have states? The idea is that states are more than geographical boundaries. Why do we have one Montana or Wyoming or Idaho but two Dakotas? I'm sure there were political reasons behind that, allowing the overall region of Dakota to have 4 senators instead of 2, maybe having to do with slavery? I don't know the history but it wouldn't shock me. This would require changing the constitution which requires the states to agree to it.... won't happen. They're not going to give up power. IT's also why the only real way to change the electoral college is through the popular vote pact that states are individually signing on to, which will also be challenged in court as soon as it's implemented, if it ever reaches that point.

It will be addressed legally if he doesnt give the committee what they want in terms of questioning him. I don't know if legally FOx has claimed anything about him in particular but I know they've argued in court that Tucker is not. So it'd be hard to distinguish between the two. They can say anything in a press release. But in front of a judge is what matters.

Comparisons of the Capitol riots to what happened 'around the country' are not valid. The riot at the Capitol was a specific event with a goal of interrupting the certification of the transfer of power from one administration to another by interfering with official government business. It wasn't a random protest in the streets. They were storming our seat of government and it had the blessing and encouragement of a sitting US president. Nothing else that happened in 2020 remotely compares to it. It was an event on the scale of the War of 1812 looting of DC, Pearl Harbor, and 9/11 in terms of significance. It was an attempted coup.

They started coming up in the late 20's and 30's. They'd go back and forth between Detroit and TN depending on jobs and finally stayed here in 1950. My mom was named after a Polish lady they lived next door to in Detroit. But then her parents went back to TN where she grew up. A lot of aunts/uncles stayed in TN. My dad's family lived in SW Detroit. Just like other "immigrants" they went where the others were and in the 50's and 60's lots of people from TN lived there. On my mom's side they were east side. One uncle in East Detroit and another in Detroit.
